Eurydice is defined by the phrase: “Misery builds character”. She believes that in order to grow as a person, then you need to experience some form of misery. And she wants everyone to experience it so that everyone will become better people. And she is willing to do whatever it takes in order to achieve her goals. She’s incredibly strong, a combat expert, and a proud soldier that will never give up.
Backstory
Eurydice was born in a rich family and her parents loved her. When she was young, she was a very rebellious kid and never took things seriously. She would always get into trouble from both school and her parents. However, it never phased her. She was never hurt by this, in fact, she had never experienced a tragedy of some kind. Until a few years later when she would join the army.
The only reason she joined the army was to have fun. Again, she never took anything seriously. Just when she was about to be kicked out, she would find out that an evil organization had attacked their homes and had killed her parents. This was the first time she had ever taken anything seriously, and the first time she had shed a tear. She was devastated, she hit rock bottom. But one day, she would have the courage and strength to get back up and avenge her parents.
She was now taking things seriously, no longer seeing this as a game or for fun, she was working her hardest. Over time, her skills would be outstanding to her fellow army people. She would even rise up the ranks. And when the time was right, she was finally ready to avenge her parents. She headed to the organization that killed her parents and defeated them all. She was then praised for all her accomplishments and even got a Medal of Honor. All of her training had finally paid off. She was no longer the rebellious child she once was, she was now a strong, honorable soldier that everyone looks up too.
After her award ceremony, she would visit her parents grave. She wanted to talk to them, tell them what she has done, and her new outlook on the world. And this conversation is where things get… interesting. “Hi mom, hi dad, how is it up there? Me? Oh, well, let’s just say that I’ve been through a lot. Your death was the first time in my life that I ever took things seriously, it was the first time I had ever cried before. I was a very stupid kid, but now, things have changed. I took the army seriously and trained day and night. I became stronger, and wiser. I was stronger than everyone in the army, I rose the ranks. And finally, after waiting for so long, I finally avenge you. I took out the people that killed you. I was given a Medal of Honor, people were praising me, saying I’m an inspiration for others. I hope that you’re so proud of me. I’ve come a long way from who I once was.” Eurydice then started to laugh a little. “It’s funny, if it weren’t for your death, I would never be where I am today. I mean, I would probably still be my rebellious, dumb self, not caring in the slightest. But now, I’m stronger, I’m wiser, I’m better. In a way, I’m kinda glad that this happened. I would have never been where I’m at today if it wasn’t for you. I now finally understand that quote I heard from school, “misery builds character.””
It was at that point where she developed a messed up ideology. She believes that in order to grow as a person, you need to experience some kind of misery. That way, you can use it as motivation and become even stronger than before. And now, she is willing to put others through misery in order for them to grow as people. She wants everyone to become better, to become stronger. And in her eyes, this is the best method to do so.
