yeah it was sweeeet ! i thought there would have been alot more people there - at speer ? about 30 - it was way cool when she rolled in - in the dark - almost silent like and everyone was super quiet - real eerie......she left the cheyenne steam shop about 5:50 am and headed to denver at about 7:20 - i wanted more black exhaust, but it was happening - my buddy caught it at ault, colorado with some grain silos - plus i was shooting video too - haven't watched it yet though.
i just wished it would have left about an hour later - i really don't like the light and missed getting a blue-blue sky...oh ! well - it's not on my schedule - i was trying to find out when it returns to cheyenne but no-one knew ?

i think it was channel 9 news out of denver (?) it flew right over me, but i wasn't even gonna look at it to see - my eyes where on 3985
- yeah it was a good day for stills - some clouds would have been nice (LOL)
the heli was kinda annoying in my vid - it's right in it as 3985 started its run...
i wonder where that person shot the vid you watched ? there wasn't that many shooting video - there was a guy behind me up on the hill with a small vid
can you send the link to it ??
thanks
eddie

3985 is coming through KC on the way to St. Louis and on the way back. I won't be able to catch her this week(end) at all since I'm working EMS at the track for NASCAR, but I will DEFINITELY hit her up next weekend all the way from east of KC to Topeka if I can swing it (and maybe even Marysville). I need to get my spots lined up soon...

this is a really cool pic! i love the perspective, and trains make great subjects for photos. nice composition/placement of the train, and nice colors.
