Hey, eveyone! I hope you're all doing well! Here, I present a small thoughts on going in depth about my thoughts on Thomas and the Royal Engine.

I'm not so sure about this, as I've got to review the entire BWBA era to say so (at the moment, I'm half way through S6, so I'm a long way away from S22-S24), but I honestly think The Royal Engine is my favourite BWBA episode. I must admit, it has some flaws, but it's definitely one of the best things ever to come out of that era. While I think the finale should've been on Sodor rather than the Mainland, the episode and it's plot are still pretty good and serve as a great finale for the series. While Beresford as a character sucks, at least he was more tolerable here than in JBS. Duchess was a nice character, but I don't have much to say about her. Sir Topham Hatt and Thomas were fun. Something else I'd like to mention is that Thomas in the BWBA Era as characterized very inconsistently, but he is honestly great in this episode. However, the episode could've honestly been about almost any other character in the series and nothing would change. As I said, while I like Thomas here, I think Edward would've been a far better and fitting choice. The one who started it all should, very logically, be the one to close it all. Tbh, that wouldn't have been hard either as Thomas isn't portrayed like an idiot, so Edward could've very well fit that role, but I still like Thomas in that special. The callbacks to the RWS and previous TVS stories, while most of them were forced into the plot and added little to nothing as a whole, were actually quite nice.

The story itself while not what I would've wanted or expected for a finale, is still enjoyable and solid, but it feels very rushed, and it keeps jumping from place to place, and it doesn't allow you to take in what's happened.

So, as a whole, while I think this episode has flaws, I honestly quite like it and I like it's message too. Again, far from what I would've expected, but in a season/series where it's filled to the grim with robotic crap in it, having a nice and simple episode as the series finale works quite well. I also like the music in the episode too. It's great.

I honestly rank it with a 10/10, more so for what it stands for rather than the story itself, and while I still stand that's not flawless, it's honestly great and my favourite episode from S24. Overall, I think Michael White did a good job at writing the finale, and I find it neat how a fan wrote the finale for the show. As a whole, Thomas and the Royal is a very neat specia/episode. Very enjoyable, despite a few flaws here and there. Besides, I'd rather take the lovely but simple Thomas and the Royal Engine than this shitty reboot that will come in a few months, trying to be "75 years in the making". As for that line made by Mattel about the reboot in "75 years in the making", it's honestly trash. It's pretty clear this garbage reboot was simply made in the spot back in 2019 when they realized BWBA wasn't doing well, but I still think this reboot will die given how little Mattel seems to be pushing it, only two or three months away from it's release date.

But, back to Thomas and the Royal Engine, while I think it has a few flaws here and there, it works very well for series finale. I give it a 10/10, just for how heartwarming it was. I really like the end of the episode too, serving as a very nice conclusion to a brand that lasted for 75 years.

Also, if you disagree and have different opinions on the series finale, that's fine and I completely respect your opinion, but in return, please respect mine. Thanks, everyone! Bye!
