Watercolor on Arches 140# cold press 1/4 sheet 15" X 11" (5/6/2017)AquaChallenge
Just got home from painting this. Took off after my graveyard shift on my bike, headed to Lake Meade with a bit of paper and my field pallet, and painted this while the light and weather held. The wind was picking up just as I was finishing, almost blew it into the lake! I'm not going to do this again any time soon. But I believe it was worth it for the AquaChallenge for April/May. I am totally wiped out! Luckily, the wind was at my back on the way home, and made good time.
This area was just a bunch of mud and sand last time I was here, just two years ago. A year before that, it was underwater. A testament to the near constant draining of Lake Meade, which is more than 90 feet down today.
Anyway, it's time for bed for me. Have to go back to work again tonight.
Don't get me wrong, I had more fun today, than I have in a long time. But little ol' me is dead tired.......zzzzzzzzz
