It has been three years since Kay Elreen made herself memorable for her impulsive behavior during her battle demonstrations at the first PCBC.
But not a peep has been heard from the pyromaniac after she was defeated by *chief-orc , the Dino King.

Especially when it was rumored, that Kay's beloved Ninetales had deceased.

Meanwhile Kay began to think that her defeat during the first PCBC was entirely her fault; she was not strong enough. As her hatred at herself grew and burned inside her guts, so did Kay learn to finally control most of her emotions, except for her raging anger. (More or less). In turn, this caused her rash and impulsive nature to increased dramatically.

As news of the second PCBC sprung up, Kay's deaden spirit tuned out much of the rest of the world. Now 19 years old, Kay has found adventuring, battling, as a thing of the past; the spark that had excited her previously wasn't there anymore.

What hasn't changed is her intensive bonding with her Pokémon (Fire types, in general more or less). This possibility could explain why Kay feels like half of herself is missing, ever since the death of her Ninetales.

So how did Kay end up at the second PCBC?

From first glance, Corey does not look like your typical fire-indulging pyro. Androgynous-looking, and always nicely dressed, this girly man-boy is constantly pampered by the girls, while he is a dislike amongst the guys, to the point where the manly men harass him.

Corey is a huge flirt and a skirt-chaser.

Smart-mouthed, crafty, egotistic and tacky, one of Corey's best skills is to weasel himself out of a sticky situation by verbal means. Ironically he gets into those sticky situations because he sometimes doesn't keep his thoughts to himself.

But while he may be difficult, cocky and arrogant on the surface, deep under the layers there is a sympathetic nature that is brought in the rarest of occasions. Corey is even more reckless than the Kay three years ago, but unlike Kay, Corey shows more of the passionate side of fire.

Three years ago, news of the first PCBC and its activities spread around even through the Sinnoh region, where Corey resided in Sunyshore City. Though his attention lingered at first at the more classy, trendy ladies there, he could not help but notice the battle methods of a particular pyromaniac. Inspiration and excitement over came him, Corey began to search for Kay for personal gain, in hopes that she could mentor him in the fiery arts. (So he could show off later to the ladies).

By the time Corey found the whereabouts of Kay during the three year period, (wandering around Hoenn Region, to be specific), Kay had already transformed from brash tomboy to a ravishing adult. (or Demon, depending on your perspective). Regardless, after seeing the new Kay, and falling head over heels, Corey has made it one of his motives to win her over; heart, mind, body and soul.

Perhaps, with PCBC the second, if he could re-spark the passion of battling in Kay...who knows?

~~~~~~The Fire Duo~~~~~~
The relationship between the two of them is peculiar inwardly and out. From a spectator's point of view it would seem as if they were "good friends" (the bickering kind), and those with a higher imagination, it may seem that both do not want to admit their intimacy with each other.

Kay's first impression of the girly man was not filled with sparkles and rainbows, as Corey had hoped. Rather Kay cannot understand why this pest keeps following her demanding that she help train the pyro-wannabe. Despite setting him on fire several times, (most of them purposely) Kay only thinks of Corey as a nuisance she can't get rid of, but on her good days (if there are any), though she'll never admit it, Kay notices in recognition how much stronger her partner is growing.

Back story: After the first PCBC, Sleek ran into a crossroad, when Kay reunited with her brother, his older trainer, Kenneth. Should he go back to the one he had not grown up nor trained with? Or should he stick with the trainer who had been through with him thick and thin, and also someone he unwillingly admitted he actually knew better? Either way, after his decision, Sleek now known as "Shadow" has lately become one of Kay's best powerful fighters.

Nickname: Frieza ("Fred" for short).
Gender: Female
Nature: Brave
Ability: Blaze
Moveset: 1) Flare Blitz 2) Solarbeam 3) Aerial Ace 4) Focus Blast
Held Item: Quick Claw
Back story: Another one of Kay's most powerful fighters, however probably also the most insecure of the group. Frieza is constantly worrying about her appearance ("Am I cute?") and the fact that she is a downright klutz. Frieza also constantly has new crushes, only to have them shattered by stupid mistakes, klutzy or accidental. Rash, and impulsive on many occasions, she is very grateful for having Kay as an awesome trainer, but freaks out so bad when any punk male lover candidate comes by her path, sometimes she flies backwards and hits herself.

Nickname: Pon
Gender: Male
Nature: Naive
Ability: Oblivious
Moveset: 1) Earthquake 2) Lava Plume 3) Mud Bomb 4) Rock Slide
Held Item: Passho Berry
Back story: If a Numel is simply a "sleepy" walking volcano cow thing, then what is Pon with his insomnia? Most likely, the reason for this insomnia is due to the fact that Pon wants to be awake for his first eruption. "Is it here yet? Is it here yet? Gosh, when is it going to happen? I think I'm going to EXPLODE ...!!" Oh yeah, Pon likes candy.

Nickname: Soina
Gender: Male
Nature: Quiet
Ability: Blaze
Moveset: 1) Eruption 2) Flame Wheel 3) Solarbeam 4) Earthquake
Held Item: Charcoal
Back story: Soina is the wisest of the whole group, (and also the quietest), and thats saying alot, when you're grouped with rash, impulsive, non-thinkers...! (such is the nature of fire). However, though his actions are always thought through, it is not to say that they are meek and hesitating. Soina can rival some of Kay's very powerful forces.

Nickname: Cinder
Gender: Female
Nature: Timid
Ability: Flash Fire
Moveset: 1) Ominious Wind 2) Flamethrower 3) Sunny Day 4) Extrasensory
Held Item: Heat Rock
Back story: One of Blaze's offspring, Cinder has the same ruffled fur as her father, but is frightened of most things. However her love for her trainer can perhaps bring out the fullest potential in this little fire furball.

Back story: The troublemaker of the group, Corey is a bad influence on this mischievous fella. Raile is many times caught in the middle of trouble. Big bad (explosive!) trouble. Perhaps due to his cheeky taunts. Also very afraid of birds/flying types.
