Anyway. for Ember's back story and personality.

Full name: Ember Cogs
     Coat: Lime green

    Mane: firey yellow-yellow orange

    Eyes: Blue

Age: Equivalent to young 20's (around 22 -24) in human years

Occupation: Inventor / archeologist team member.

Cutie mark: two gears. Earned when her teacher assigned a class project to come up with a new invention whether it worked or not to exercise the creativeness of everyone's mind. Ember took it literally and came to class with clockwork snowflake maker, though because it's a machine, it only made identical snowflakes and since all snowflakes need to be unique, it could not be utilized. Never-the-less Ember still loved the idea of creating motion from non-magic machines thus her cutie mark represents her talent for clockwork invention.

Ember continued to create new steampunk-esque inventions following the works of her idol Leonardo NeighVinchi. Her main focus is a life long project for a synthetic wing machine for earth ponies and unicorns. the reason being is because she loves the feeling of boundless freedom that flying brings nd she wants to share it with other ponies. She has traveled Equestria pitching her ideas to larger corperations and has gotten a lot of funding for her to afford and finish her flying machine and any other things she could come up with. Which has also gotten her name out in public as a young upstart in technology advancement.
Her wings help as and extra helping hoof when things need to be held very steadily and because of that, her wings are very sure of themselves and helps in precise flying maneuvers. She trusts her wings more than her hooves and ponies will often find her using them for things that should be done with her hooves, like eating, flipping pages of a book, picking things up *ect. Basically they work as a set of “hands” and her hooves are just for walking.

As an adult she joined a group of explorers to study civilizations of ancient ponies so she may learn more and incorporate what she learns of their technology into her own work. Of which is where she resides now
You can often find her sneaking rations of peanut butter as she cannot get enough of it. And has more than once gotten in trouble to the point where if there is peanut butter, no one is going to tell her.

One of her major flaw is being a terrible alcoholic. When it comes to drinking, she will challenge anypone who will listen to a drinking contest and get very cuddly and verbally agressive when drunk, not to the point where she's mean to other ponies but more along the lines of demanding free drinks because she's a "famous inventor" (even though she only has her name in a few magazines) and telling people she isn't an alcoholic

The other flaw being her insatiable curiosity that comes with being an inventor which also leads her to eat a few less than healthy things just to experiance the effects which is how she became the alcoholic in the first place and at the same time, she's poked her muzzle into a few places she shouldn't have and have gotten into more trouble with other ponies than she would like to admit. I.E. dark alley ways with strange sounds leading to a gang fight.

She is very proud of her long tail and refuses to cut it even though it tends to get in the way a lot.

The goggles are a special set she built herself that magnify what she is looking at. They are also used when welding things together as they tint dark when exposed to extreme light and can also double as flying goggles. One will almost never see her take them off.

Personality.

Shes more of a chaotic neutral do what i want kind of person, even if it's distructive, but doesn't necissarily go out of her way to harm ponies
shes very stubborn and hard headed in that once she had her mind set to one thing, anyone who tries to tell her to do it differently or postpone it, she will stick to her guns. again "what i want when i want" attitude.
She can be very playful by nature and will oftenly dance to swing music and had a point in time where all she would sing was musical show tunes for days on end as a reply to any question. She is also very self aware about how childish she can act and often comtemplates if ponies acctually take her seriously or not.
On the other side of it, she does have her serious moments when the times calls for it.
She is very protective of those she holds close and has been known to get into fights with ponies that have done her or her friends wrong.

Family

Little sister: Dixon (also pegasus) got the name because parents ae huge fans of the Trotting Dead

special some pony: She's in love with her "boss" in the archaeological team, nothing official but VERY strong romantic tensions between the two.

Poison Joke effect: inability to stop blurting out all her secrets and anything she thinks. basically her speech filter stops and anything that comes to mind is said out loud
