Okay, okay. I know that I usually put up pictures that have nice backgrounds and were well planned and set up and what not, BUT THIS WAS JUST SO FLIPPIN CUTE!!!!!! NYAAA~~~
Plus, who wouldn't want to see Chris Redfield sleepin on a couch with a cute Teddy Bear as his pillow 
(btw, Chris totally sleeps with his gun

Let's see. For the shoulder harness (this one was unfinished) I went to an outdoors store (REI specifically) and bought these belt-y things (I don't remember what they are called @.@) and then bought some straps from a fabric store and sewed on the straps to the shoulder belts (you can buy shoulder harnesses from REI and other outdoor shops, but they are expensive, so I went the $5 a piece route
The gun is an airsoft gun, it was Brady's, he bought it from an airsoft store somewhere @.@ Can't carry those at cons though, so I bought a fake gun for those (toy stores or eBay will do you good).
He's not wearing his tactical belt here either, but I bought an excellent quality one for cheap off of eBay ($35 for the belt plus like 15 accessories @.@!!!!)
The gloves and the leg holster that attaches to the belt were from Sports Authority. I don't know if all Sports Authorities have a paintball section, but they make a lot of holsters for paintball guns (like leg, waist, shoulder) so any place that sells paintball equipment will have those.
In a nutshell, when looking for props, if I am making them, I go to like a Michael's or Hobby Lobby for pieces. eBay is my friend for when I am looking for the hard to find stuff and want it cheap!! (sometimes amazon too). For things that deal with guns and 'outdoor' equipment like this, REI, Sports Authority, and Army Surplus stores (and eBay) are good places to find things.
Finally, if you are making a costume, Good Will is a great place to find cheap clothes that make good starting points for costumes. That way you don't have to actually go through the trouble of making a shirt, pants, etc, you have the starting point and you can just alter from there. And fabric stores would obviously be the place to go to buy material for making clothes/clothing accessories. They have patterns too to help start you out and some fabric stores offer classes for assistance.
And one more piece of advice, eBay REALLY IS awesome. You would be AMAZED at the things you can find on there for costuming
