I'd say British humor is somewhat different from American humor. A lot of it is notoriously dry. 
Have you never seen Monty Python, Becca? This sketch in particular has two policemen questioning the owner of a chocolate company, concerning disgusting candies in his assortment. And that cop standing up is queasy because he ate some of those nasty sweets!
