i made cue after i had a dream structured as a game a while ago, it was loosly based off of sonic adventure, jak and daxter, other mic. collectathons and point and click games. there were multipule hub areas like a school, a beach, a city , cues house and a large corporation's main building+secret labs all of which had various collectables ,items, and side quest? but there were also action stages related to those areas (excluding home and school) .i don't remember parts of the plot but i know it had something to do with memory cubes (the look like colorful dice)and the fact that cues memory cubes melt i think that in this world memory cubes were commonly used as a power source but that's about all i remember other than the owner of the large company seemed suspicious ,like it seemed like he was going to be the villain who wanted a bunch of power before you meet him but then he turns out to be a cool dude.anyway you started at school where cue is woken up by students talking about the fieldtrip they're going on that day , after this small cutscene the player is given control of cue where you can interact with almost everything and if you sat back down the teacher would come in and tell everybody to get ready to load the bus after that you could go and interact with even more things around the school and get on the bus, i specifically remember a pickle jar behind the teachers desk with one pickle and if you took the pickle and sat down or ate it and sat down the teacher would comment on it's absence and how he really wanted to eat that pickle ,and once you get up if you talk with the teacher you can comment on the pickle , if you have it and say "so your pickle.. " there's a 50/50 chance the teacher would say " kid, i really wanted that pickle. you don't look forward to much the more you age, and at that moment it was my life" or "no ,i'm not trying to catch a case cue."(sometimes my mind spoils me with these jokes) if you ate the pickle and tell him he just says "you" menacingly while glaring ,if you eat it in front of him he'll do the same thing but will say it while you're anywhere in the classroom, and my favorite was if you say "so your pickle.." then after that conversation eat the pickle while you're in his general area him (any location any time you can eat the pickle on the bus if you wanted ) the camera will zoom on his eyes and he'll say " i knew i couldn't trust you".
i don't know why that pickle thing stuck with me it wasn't even integral to anything my mind just decided 'pickle'
anyway this is getting long(100% because of the unnecessary pickle thing) so i'll elaborate more on another thing but imma give y'all a brief rundown: after that the bus breaks down at the beach you need to get a small amount of memory cubes so you have to do 3 of the little quest things or the action stage and one mandatory quest thing to get a sling shot(+bonus cube) to get the amount required after this it's to the company where you need a partner and there's 3 options teach dude, another dude who you have the ability to pick if you become acquainted with him either on the bus or at school before, or a random person who you'll ditch either way cue ends up in a trash can carried by a robot with teach and other dude cue is accidently picked up and they'll follow after you but with rando, rondo talks too much so cue jumps into the trash can . anyway they end up in a secret lab where there are some upgrades like ..gun and.. cool shoes anyway this is the part that really lead to the main game because after one stage with your new upgrades you meet science dude who in exchange of not calling authorities and possibly ruining their lifes they help him with stuff. and that's the important parts (the pickle was very important)of what's kind of the tutorial/beginning of that dream game. there's more but I'm getting tired of writing right now
other key parts of the game
the friendship/ acquaintance part : the game had a friend feature where you played as 2 characters, cue and whoever you chose, it in hubs and stages you could switch between the 2 characters kinda like in sonic heros( but with 2 instead of 3), the other character didn't disappear they just followed instead, unless the other character was substantially taller than cue or a animal (excluding house cats and birds)because then cue would just ride on their back instead. also it was co-op compatible up to 4 players p2 could join at anytime as long as there was a companion to take over but 3 and 4 would need to be called on or picked up in the hubs but you would need to not only be acquaintances with 3 characters but also have 4 friends to do that
there were a lot of people to switch to and each one had their own ability's a few notable ones were the teacher, the other dude on the bus , the scientist who made the stuff cue stole, a crow you can feed, the trash robot , and a bartender you can force to work for you .. that last one was my favorite so much so i believe he's actually on that poster i made awhile back
i distinctly remember that Quinn/9 was a free dlc in that dream where you could use 3 characters now if wanted but you still only got to chose one of them {cue, 9, -----}, and there were added boss fights
it's astonishing how my brain made this game ,aloud me to play it ,and not only that but let me look up stuff about it in said dream ,but wouldn't let me run into the cornfield to escape being ran over in another dream because 'YoU CaN't gO iNtO DLC AREAS '
