ollie isnt a canine, he's a Scottish fold. Scottish fold is a breed of cat with folded ears

The genus pattern and ancestry is too different for them to create a proper hybrid of a feline and a canine. Well Ligers(lionXtiger) and Leopons(lionXleopard) are possible, but there is a reason: lions, tigers and leopards share the genus name PANTHERA and they are classified into the group panthera, since they have similar genuses. Also their size is similar: tiger(300~350kg) lion(250~300kg) etc. When the genes are too different, the mating is usually impossible, and even though they succed in mating, their young will come out DEAD.
