Good Grief....this is project 100. Just realized this now...81 Signature projects, 19 Wallpaper projects. Yeah, two years of self-taught digital graphics had netted me 100 projects. That's almost one project a week.
Well, more on the thing itself: I felt that wallpaper 18 was a bit of a disappointment; I tried to incorporate too many features and it ended as a jumble. So I tried again, cutting back on some areas and falling back on tried and true methods. The result: not a mess.
The right fractal I used in Wallpaper 7, but it really didn't look good, so I reused it. The left fractal I was going to use in another project, but I could never get Apophysis to mutate it into the right shape.
The .xcf file is 25 layers, taking a nice 30+ MB. Took 4 hours to put together.
