Description
This is a simple...small test tutorial on how to make a reflection in poser...then you can make reflections everwhere as you advanceThis is for one FIGURE (thing being reflected)
and the GROUND (Thing creating reflection)
I do it this way but you can start with making the reflection on the ground first then add figure if you want.
~FIGURE~
1) Make a new scene
2) Bring in a figure - pose as you wish (drop to floor, laying positions are good but not necessary)
~LIGHTS~
1) If this your first time then erase all lights except for one
2) Position it to the the low left hand corner (look at picture in case)
3) Make the light color WHITE and put up the intesity to 100%
4) In properties make the light INFINITE and have RAYTRACE SHADOWS clicked
**You can always add more lights, but make sure one is set to white and high intensity. I just want you to do one light so it can render faster in FIREFLY**
~MATERIAL ROOM~ **SIMPLE WAY/VIEW**
1) CHOOSE GROUND --Poser's Floor -- (This should be in props part)
2) DIFFUSE COLOR = BLACK -- (but it can be any color you want the floor to basically be)
3) HIGHLIGHT COLOR = BLACK
4) AMBIENT COLOR = BLACK
5) REFLECTION COLOR = WHITE (Click on square below and click on RAYTRACE REFLECTION)
5) Leave everything else the way it is
*** This is very important - Go to ANVANCED MODE and click off SHADOW_CATCH_ ONLY) ***
~RENDER SETTINGS~ **MANUAL SETTINGS**
1) Have RAYTRACING clicked
2) Have CAST SHADOWS clicked
3) RAYTRACE BOUNCES should be at 2
** I sometimes raise my settings higher to show the detail in the clothes, props, etc; but it takes a while longer to render...well depending on how fast the pc is. RAYTRACE and CAST SHADOWS will always be chosen at higher settings**
LAST BUT NOT LEAST -- Render in FIREFLY and check to see if you have a reflective floor, as its rendering the black floor should appear and there should be a reflective figure on the floor
VIOLA YOU HAVE DONE IT!! -- Hopefully if this tutorial is written correctly and you understand
As you keep using poser you can change some scenes/props to have a reflection on them hopefully using this.
