Hey hey hey,I've been tinkering with "werehog" forms for GOTF -verse characters that are a bit more unconventional than the usual "more fur, more fangs" formula. I really like how this one of Shadow turned out, so I thought I'd share it.
The logic behind the choice of animal is that the transformation bring out the unconscious, more base animal side of the person being transformed (just ignore the fact that they're ALREADY animal-ish. SEGA did). So in Shadow's case, he's solitary, secretive and has quite a bit of self-loathing and guilt built up. I figured an amphibian from sort of like a poisonous frog would be a good metaphor for that given the cultural concept of the frog prince. I also included the design elements from the Biolizard in Shadow's look because, well, it's in his genes.
Anyways, enjoy! I'll probably do Silver next!

That's incredible! Such an original design - don't think I've ever seen a Shadow 'were-form' that worked, to be honest. This one does though. The implementation of the Biolizard gave me goosebumps - I LOVE when anyone takes that and amplifies the sci-fi part of it and makes it believable. I'd LOVE to see more of this design, and I may try it out myself. Very Impressive, Evan. Very much so.
Also, when you think of it - Take perfect Chaos for example. He's based on the lizard form, as well as Biolizard, and since...You know. Chaos factor and all that jazz. This works better than you might think at first glance. Excellent job. C:

Ooh, very interesting concept. And the blending with Biolizard was an excellent idea. Very fitting. I love the colors on this one. Also kinda makes me think slightly of Mephilis in Sonic '06. Maybe it's just the lack of the classic Sonic style nose.
I also love Shadow's almost "WHAT?!" face. XD

I just recently got caught back up with all your GOTF comics and I gotta say that I love how you're merging ideas from diff stories into this monstrous colossal epic-filled adventure and your art style has changed a bit since the beginning so it's like we, as your fans, are growing with you. Does that make any sense? Well, anyway awesome drawing XD!!

That's actually an interesting concept, the were form reflecting personality rather than genetics. But I do like that you included hints towards the biolizard for Shadow, seeing as the Biolizard was one of the more memorable boss fights of mine in my history of playing sonic games, especially with the realization that both he and shadow were part of the "ultimate lifeform" experiments on the ARK.

Whenever anyone ever mentions the Biolizard, I remember fondly that goddamn bossfight. Perfect Chaos and Metal Sonic had nothing on that.

Interesting concept, the design also reminds me about some of Doom's minions! So any reptilian, shadow form works well in this scenario.

I first thought about the biolizard when I first saw Shadows "beast form". For some reason Shadow's eyes remind me of Mephilis because the eyes are glowing green on top of red. I could see more fangs, but I don't know if I could see more fur. The color choices I see on Shadow have desaturated blacks contrasting with the yellow-orange, and the luminous green that compliments with the glowing red. The background has very little paintbrush detail, yet the deep green and its value scale create a sense of a tropical-forest type. Overall, a well-done and very creative appearance. & I can't wait to look at Silver's form.

Yeah the "werehog" is a form which Sonic takes in the game "Sonic Unleashed".
