For this drawing, my intention is to bring out the picture in a funny mood. Therefore, my emphasis is on the characters’ expressions. I play with their expressions; yet, the expressions are drawn in relation to the characteristics and personalities of the characters in Scooby-Doo. The two characters at the front, namely Scooby-Doo and Shaggy Rogers share several personality traits. They get frightened easily. Hence, in the drawing, I purposely bring out their shocking faces with rounded eyes and mouth agape. As they are at the front, their characters are drawn in a neat manner. Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo are, undeniably, two main characters in the story of “Scooby-Doo”. Due to this, I can discover more of their personalities as compared to the two characters standing behind – Fred Jones and Daphne Blake. Fred in this picture is with serious face and expression as he is the one who always leads the group of friends in solving mysteries and often orders the gang to split up to search for clues. He is a man with wits and intelligence. On the other hand, Daphne is noted for her red hair and fashion sense. She is the one out of the gang who gets capture more often that the others. Because of this reason, I put her at the back, having the other friends to lead her and protect her. Lastly, Velma Dinkley is portrayed like a “nerd” in the picture. In fact, she is the most intelligence person in the gang. She is often seen with her glasses. With that, I put emphasis on her glasses. The glasses are magnified so that the focus will be on her glasses. Moreover, another important feature of hers is the hair. I instill some fashions in her hairstyle. She is drawn to have thick mushroom hairstyle. It can help to intensify her “nerd-ness”. Overall, I make them in creepy looks as they are in a mysterious investigation.
