Description "Fabulous as she is generous, Rarity is the quintessential noble artist at heart, tirelessly seeking to reflect the true inner beauty from all things in life, be it from the ground, from her dresses, or from her friends."

----------------

Thus begins the Time Off Series. This series is a project I started in the Summer of 2011 that depicts what each of the main six from MLP FiM do in their time off, away from what they normally do. My goal with this project hopefully is to present each of the characters in a more introspective and personal light than in the show while still remaining faithful the show's tone. These comics rely primarily on visual story telling with little to no dialogue, mostly because I enjoy showing the story a lot more than telling it.

Brilliant. Love the last panel, she just looks so content. You, good sir, have a new watcher.

This... is a very interesting, and... very innovative... use for unicorn magic. She would have to speed the arrow up in mid-air to do this... and manipulate the target arrow with the magic as well. Of all ponies, she would make an art form of it.

I would make some statement about how beautiful this all is, but Rarity would be dissapointed with it, so I'll just quietly smile, nod and be off. ^_^

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but this is heavily reminiscent of the recent preview clip for Pixar's "Brave." This one will undoubtedly rub out the stain that was "Cars 2."

Hard to imagine that an animation company who managed to topple Disney with their combination of heart, laughs, majesty, sorrow, and intensity could've produced something that tarnished their otherwise perfect streak, even if it might not be an outright godawful feature.

Archery... truly the sport that Rarity would be most attracted to

The flower in the arrow was really great. Damn! The thought of what extents her magic reaches to beautify everything she does. To even bring back to life a dead piece of wood so it can sprout the beauty of a flower again...

Very beautiful!

Not long ago I read a story that had Rarity take up archery (coincidence, I guess) as a hobby, which I thought was a great and fitting idea. To see it now as pictures that well drawn is even better.

I especially like her hairdo in this

Damn. That "release" panel. That has to be one of the most beautifully amazing images I've ever seen come out of this fandom. The use of magic, her poise and concentration, the power and motion of letting the arrow fly...

Weapons of war creating beauty. I mean, damn.

I thought it was strange initially that she looked disappointed that her second arrow split the first, as though even *that* feat was somehow not good enough. Was there an rose wrapped up inside the first arrow, and she -wasn't- trying to slam the arrow straight-on, but just nick its side to slice off the outer covering and cause the rose to unfurl? Or was she constructing the stems of a bouquet from the arrow shafts and "magic'ed" the rose into existence? (I can't decide which is more awesome. )

I didn't realize it was actually Rarity at first, because her mark was covered up, her hair was different, and her coat was blue in the shadows instead of white. But the image of her as a pseudo-sniper (checking the target with her binoculars) is fitting. Her "wahaha-ha!" near the end made me burst out laughing because it's in-character for her and also hilarious. [link]

Your latter theory of how the flower came to be is more what I was going for.

Befuddled I was to learn about your inability to recognize Rarity at first, bur your point I do see. I kept the Cutie mark hidden so as to direct more emphasis to it when it finally was revealed (something I unfortunately can't get away with in later comics) while assuming everyone already knew it was Rarity.

I also assumed that everyone just remembers every minute detail from the show, as that hair style you see there is the one she sported in "Green isn't your color" (I couldn't get enough of how stupidly amazing it was, despite how nightmarish it was trying to figure out a back angle).

As for the lighting, well, characters like Rarity who have an all white coat are sort of a mixed blessing: Essentially you can toss them into any environment and the colors will reflect and play nicely off them, but at same time it makes it difficult to capture the original color scheme because of how their color palette absorbs everything. It's actually rare to see or find things that appear completely white in nature. What can you do? Still glad you like the comics

It's also entirely possible I was simply unobservant the first time around, haha.

Wow. I never would have picked up on that. It seemed like she'd semi-casually stuffed her hair up to keep it out of her way. (I say "semi-casually" because, well, this is Rarity. She could be jogging around the block in old sweatpants and a paint-speckled t-shirt and still look marvelous.)

Beautiful but bold that Rarity.

She showed how she is stronger that she really is the those episodes of her. Well... except when she lied and never got caught. This is very nice rendition of her. A image worths a thousand words. Strong images speak to themselves.

Fantastic work.
