In case it hasn't become abundantly clear by now that another reason why I'm releasing these all now is because of the next Satellite Soda contest, then let me just take this moment to say that that's exactly what's going on.There's a new Satellite Soda Contest. And here's the last one for now. Of the ones that I've illustrated myself, this is still my favorite I think...
The picture is based on a sculpture, which was made by Matt Aylward, clearly a man of massive charisma and intellect.

How do you make Photoshop look so close to actual traditional media? Great Work!

I embedded a texture I created on paper with real brushes (which I scanned). Since Photoshop CS5 I also use the 3D brushes, those help the effect. But this particular image was still done with an older version of PS, but same texture. I really need to make a couple of textures to choose from....

Your lines, tone, blending and color are absolutely flawless. This looks like it was done in oils and a perfect scan captured it. The fact that this was done in Photoshop pushes it completely over the top. Excellent work of my favorite X-Man. This should be made into a poster and put onto black t-shirts...both would be proudly displayed in my home and on my torso.
