Aaaand here we go! Have some cheerful filly friends teaching their newest initiate how to properly swim!

A wonderful commission ordered up by my good friend Comes with a complementary backstory:

During her cousin's latest visit, Applebloom asked Babs if she'd like to try going for an underwater cave exploration Cutie Mark. Flustered, Babs admitted to her cousin that she'd simply sink like a rock. She hasn't yet learned how to swim. When asked 'why not', Babs said that her sister tried to get her some lessons at one of the downtown recreational centers... the one where all her old bullies used to hang out. In a matter of minutes, Applebloom gathered the rest of the crusaders, some swimsuits, and a few towels and headed to Sweetie's place for an impromptu meeting. Babs was about to learn everything she needed to know about swimming.

Not wanting to miss an opportunity, Scootaloo gathered up a few extra supplies and volunteered herself as the on-duty lifeguard. Better safe than sorry, right?

Something about this piece has been very, very refreshing. It might be the colors, but I think it's more about the concept of a bunch of friends chilling out at the lake. Had a lot of fun coming up with the scene, especially when it came to getting the water detailed out. I think I found a good mix of detail without going too crazy/overboard. It feels a bit less busy than my other works... maybe that's why it's refreshing? Who knows. What I do know, however, is that these are some cute pones.

Don't know what's coming next. My hooknose is telling me that I need to find more money before they shut off Internet to my banana crate, so I'll be doing some crazy shit to fix that up properly, no doubt. Until then, keep it classy, ponefriends.
