Description The Kirin God Anuli, who is a Desert Wind Which Kills, or (in English,) a misnamed pepper wolf. Pepper wolves owe their silly English name to a poor translation, and to the fact that they smelled 'peppery' to one of the first falcolfs to ever consort with humans, who dubbed them such when asked for an identification by the first explorers. Anuli is considered a lesser god, but he is a very important one in that he is said to actually like humans, which is commendable considering Kayoss would dearly like to kill us all (humans being an alien species on Rimer. We're an invasive species there.)

In Human Occupied Escavia, Anuli's liking for human kind has been well rewarded; temples in his honour are found in every large city and he is frequently honoured in government buildings, schools, universities and libraries alongside the goddess Kayli, who along with him, is humanity's patron. He is usually depicted running, standing alertly, or attacking erstwhile kirin soldiers who have inspired his wrath. (Pepper wolves are also major predators of kiri and hynorses.) Express Riders who travel to the desert carry talismans with his image in the hope of gleaning his protection and it is common practice for Riders to feed pepper wolves that they come across (although this latter is not entirely religious, because if they did not, the pepper wolves might eat them.)

Notes:

Anuli has a healed break in his tail; thus the kink. Tail injuries are fairly common in pepper wolves, since they use them for balance and as a rudder when running at high speeds.

Pepper wolves are believed to be the fastest natural predator on Rimer. They sport a double suspension gallop and physical structure which is similar to the ancient cheetah of Earth.

Yep, while Anuli himself would never eat a human, his non-immortal relatives would be happy to eat anything that they can catch. Beggars can't be choosers and life is extremely hard in the desert.

Thank you for any s, they're greatly appreciated.
