The hair is a nice touch. While the book version of Stalkers were made from corpses, makes you wonder if the movie ones started as living cybernetically enhanced supersoldiers whose degradation into the mechanized walking corpse-aesthetics seen was simply a product of time. Their biological parts died, but the machinery kept working.
