Fire & Ice, Red & White, Villain & Hero, Black & White...I wanted to show exactly the feature Helsa, which manifests itself in the fact that he - a villain, she - a good character. Opposites. White and black. Essentially the couple impossible, but they go against all the rules. And that is what makes Helsa so attractive. I hope I managed to convey the essence)

I will never understand this ship. He betrayed and tried to kill her sister and then he attacked her, imprisoned her and tried to kill her. Why would she want a relationship with him?

This is what completely throws me off, so I've been beyond baffled, but curious.
Later realized that much of the disconnection lies in the fact that many could not properly "feel" his transition in the movie, so some still prefer to perceive him as the good guy, and completely write out his evil exploits. On top of which, the original storyline featured Elsa getting her heart thawed by a man, and I believe this was Hans' original role before they decided to quickly scrap the idea of Elsa being the villian of the film.
I can't lie; I expected Hans to fall in love with her during their dungeon interaction; something in the scene felt like it. I even expected something from Elsa's end in the aftermath of everything, but since he revealed himself to be a psycho, I pushed that out of my assumptions.

While I don't particularry like Helsa and I myself, prefer Elsa to remain single. But this is still an amazing piece of work.
