This OC is a more recent one that I came up with while fleshing out the family tree and history of my thestral OC, Valiant Heart. Ghost Writer is Lance's younger brother. Lance and Ghost were born into a family of earth ponies. Their dad's bloodline is pure earth pony, but their mom has a mixed bloodline. According to the show, a pony can be born a completely different type from their parents if they have an ancestor of that type. Lance was born a thestral while Ghost was born an earth pony because their mother had a thestral ancestor. Ghost's special talent is writing as indicated by his pencil cutie mark. The reason said pencil has bat wings is because the stories he writes are of the horror and suspense genres. He actually earned his cutie mark via a short story he wrote for a Nightmare Night themed school assignment. He got an A, but he scared his teacher badly enough for her to have nightmares for a week (she's a very timid pony, so it wasn't that strange for a short story written by a little colt to spook her to such a degree). Upon realizing that he had a gift for writing scary stories, his cutie mark appeared. Before earning his cutie mark, Ghost was viciously bullied for being a blank flank. There were times when he came home after being beaten up by said bullies. Ghost was able to fool his parents into thinking that nothing was wrong and he was just really clumsy, but he couldn't fool his brother. Lance followed Ghost and caught the bullies that were attacking him red-hooved. His little brother couldn't defend himself, so he had to do it for him. The fight that followed ended with the bullies running away like cowards and Lance earning his cutie mark.

As far as personality goes, many ponies think Ghost is a really scary and twisted stallion from the stories he writes. Contrary to those beliefs, he's a very nice and calm pony. He isn't bothered by most things. There is one thing that'll really scare him though: taking his glasses away. Ghost's eyesight has been very poor since he was a little colt. He can't see without his glasses and he's been known to panic when he can't see. Ghost has also worn his mane and tail the same way since he was a colt. Lance used to wear his hair like that when he was little as well, but he stopped investing in how good his mane and tail looked on a regular basis as he got older. He pretty much just does what's necessary to keep it clean and free of split ends. Ghost still cares about how good he looks, so he puts more effort into his personal hair care.

Edit 1: His original coat color was too similar to another OC I designed, so I changed it. I also changed the color of his glasses.
Edit 2: I gave him a slight redesign to make him look more unique. Ironically, he hasn't changed all that much.
