SPOILERS for ME3The endings for ME3 are unimaginably awful. They retroactively sour the whole franchise.
They are bad, stupid, and nonsensical.
BUT the series can be salvaged. All they need to do is release a DLC with more endings, good endings. They don't need to ditch the ones they have, just add some more satisfying ones.
Only 3 things are needed to make this okay.
1. Shepard lives/if their LI lived they are together at the end.
2. The Mass Relays are intact. Nobody is stranded years from home.
3. The Reapers are destroyed/sent away for XK years.
I play games to escape reality. To live a life that I could never experience here, to do things I could never do, to accomplish things I could never achieve. I do not play games to watch a character I have poured hours into playing and tons of emotional investment into fail and die. This will not stand.

Eath is in ruines, asari homewold is id ruins, turina is in ruins, elcor and hanar worlds same, batarians are at best at poit of extinction. Billions of dead, colonies wiped out. Thane is dead, Legions is dead, Mordin is dead. For its its the horrible and bad price.
Again i'll repeat :
I dont get to chill with Garrus on some beach, yell abit at my quarian neigbours for their geth dog messing my garden, read a asari-prothean book, meet a little mordin and a bunch of shepard krogans. Let me be in my fairytale and others can be in theirs. Your story your actions. Simple as that. Just give us more endings. Shepard deserves to live (at very least) to keep those promises and to be with his LI.

How bad of a letdown is the ending?
I think I will play all the Asari related missions and then just stop and create a fanfiction ending for my Shepard.
The Asari are my favorite race from the Mass Effect series and I created a new kind of back-story for them.
And I romanced Liara TβSoni. Bioware promised a really special ending for those who romanced her. It looks like they LIED!

I agree, your other LIss need the same kind of treatment.
They should have had more varied endings like:
Best ending earned by doing every single thing in the game and not missing any side quest: everyone gets happy ending.
Good ending earned by doing mostly everything: some loss in the war but Shepard and Li are together.
Bittersweet: the current endings that we are stuck with, and make them more reasonable.
Bad Ending, blaze down center path: Reapers might win unless Shepard does a heroic sacrifice.
That would be a much better ending for the game if our choices lead to one of the above mentioned endings.

There is still one question in my head: How and why did Bioware screw up so bad? They delayed the game to make it better.
And we get poo for an ending.
Right now, the only redeeming quality is that some Asari characters are returning in Mass Effect 3, we get to go to Thessia and other Asari worlds, and Liara TβSoni is a squad member.
I was hoping for a Liara wedding on Thessia, which would have fitted the best ending for those who romanced her.
Also, destroying the Mass Relays and the Citadel does not make a lot of sense because it ruins the chance of spinoff games for Mass Effect that take place in the future and many other things.

I just wonder if the Imperium from the Justice League Secret Origins has taken over Bioware and other things and have started to cause trouble for us all. Then they will TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
I think I am starting to get some story ideas involving the Asari and them kicking those monsters butts off the planet.
Bioware has ruined all our dreams with our LIs, which is just evil. They also broke a lot of promises. I would not be too surprised if some people gave the game back because of the horrible ending. I am going to keep it for the Asari parts, save them as separate file save slots and play those parts again and again.
At least there is still fanfiction where we can give our Shepards the ending they deserve for such hard work.

Its a giant middle finger that all the choices you made for the last 6 years in Mass Effect meant absolutely nothing, there is no happy ending, there is no ideal resolution. All the endings to this game, even the good ones give no closure, no satisfaction, and are all logically flawed.
