Chapter 23

The black void quickly became comfortable to Hei. He could still feel his body going through all that physical torture but the Syndicate resorted to torture if their contractors needed to be punish or they were to break new contractors they stole from other companies such as the MI-6 or any other powerful company. With the rare case of Moratoriums, they were often placed into a special room best suited for their ability until they turned into a doll or the very rare case of them transitioning into a contractor like Mai had. What the MI-6 was doing to Hei was only training his body to become stronger against the torture. Hei felt a little pity for the MI-6; they weren't even trying to touch his mind which was what any company would have gone for first. Hei felt Li behind him minding his own business. He was the only light in this dark void neither of them knew what to call. Both knew that November 11 wasn't going to sit down and let this happen but Li wanted them to get out and get back to their personal mission. It was fair enough since both of them wanted to find out what happened to Xing, it wasn't just Li or it wasn't just Hei.

"This isn't exactly torture," Li giggled behind Hei. He looked over his shoulder at Li and couldn't tear his eyes off him. He was like him in every way...or was he like Li in every way? Neither of them knew who exactly the original was anymore; they were both different sides of the same coin while one was a contractor and the other was the human. They both knew which side was who and that was all they needed to know. "Wonder what Stargazer is asking you for?"

"I've never actually met Stargazer so I wouldn't know," Hei spoke in a calm voice.

"Neither have I, from what Misaki has said, she's the very first doll. Much like Amber was the first contractor, shortly followed by you."

"I've been meaning to ask, what's your theory on what happened to Xing?"

"I believe she's still out there and we just need to find her. You were kinda thrown into my body when Heaven's Gate exploded and I woke up in hospital."

"You believed in Nick's dream, didn't you?"

"I sure did, the Gate seemed to respond to that."

"You shouldn't wish, you only end up hurt."

"Wishing is keeping me from giving up."

November 11 had reached the MI-6 Headquarters and looked back at everyone. April had put handcuffs on Huang, left Mao in the cat carrier and Yin would come obediently as she was a doll. Nothing extra was needed when it came to dolls, they followed orders much like contractors but unlike contractors, dolls didn't need handcuffs or anything. Just not to be touching what they can send their spectre through if they had enough worry over their contractor partner. July was holding onto Yin's hand and April's hand and her other hand was carrying Mao's cat carrier. November 11 was going to deal with Huang, the team leader out of all of them.

"Remember the plan?" November 11 asked.

"Act until Hei starts to fight back. When he does, fight off security while you and April try and stop us. You both fail and we escape," Huang had repeated what November 11 had informed them in the car; November 11 nodded with a smile on his face. November 11 pushed Huang forward and they walked into the MI-6 building.

Decade watched, satisfied that the contractor that had caused him so much trouble was finally being kicked down into the dirt. He watched as different instruments were used to try and get BK-201 to talk, all had failed and nothing was breaking through that tough barrier that the contractor had put around himself. Based on this knowledge, a very secretive company was behind the training of BK-201 and if Decade got his hands on the knowledge that the contractor knew, then he was going to have succeeded in breaking the Reaper. That was a thrilling thought to have crossed his mind. If he had BK-201 working for the MI-6 then they would be an invincible company. Of course training him to be obedient was going to be the issue as he was loyal to his company and the team he was given. There was also the issue of having November 11 and BK-201 on the same side...as both of them had a history with each other. He wasn't sure what the nature was but he didn't like it one bit. The desk phone buzzed, Decade answered while he didn't dare take his eyes off the monitor that showed BK-201's torture.

"Yes, what is it?" He answered.

"November 11 has returned with BK-201's team," a worker replied.

"Thank you, send him up to my office," Decade replied.

"Yes sir," and the phone was hung up. Decade felt like the world was smiling at him. BK-201 and his team were together in the building. Things couldn't much better...Oh wait, they could if BK-201 broke and they had him. That was something he was now looking forward to. Containing his excitement there was the knock on the door; November 11 had arrived and bringing his small of BK-201's team.

November 11 knocked on the door, hearing Decade call him in November 11 turned the door knob and pushed open the door. Decade was visibly smiling in his chair. Just the image alone meant that Decade believed that he was winning. November 11 hoped that this wouldn't take long as he needed to go and find Hei to break him out.
