Chapter 26

November 11 waited patiently for his friend to arrive. It was past midnight so many of the employees at the observatory had gone home but the main crew there. It wasn't hard to contact Li based on the simple fact that he recognised July's spectre and with his doll there, understood the message that November 11 had given him. Looking down at his watch and groaned. He never thought that he would have to wait for Li like this. He was waiting for the Black Reaper to come and pay him a visit while they weren't in combat, something that November 11 wouldn't have thought was possible if events hadn't taken part as they had been. Li had returned back to his apartment (November 11 still didn't know Li's address) as his team said that it would have been the best move. November 11 didn't want to let Li go but he could see why it would be best if their relationship was left in the shadows from their company chains. He liked the fact that he had to keep it a secret from Misaki, there was some sort of satisfaction from having Li and Misaki, not having him. November 11's vision suddenly went black as warm hands covered his eyes.

"Been a while Jack Simon," November 11 heard the cold voice of the Black Reaper. Smiling to himself, he put his hands on Li's and gently lifted them up.

"You didn't even give me a call or a letter. What kind of friend are you?" November 11 joked. He felt Li smile behind his mask but now wasn't the time for a reunion. Standing behind November 11 was the observatory, where the police had their own doll network to help locate contractors for the police. November 11 wore a black suit to help camouflage in the night while Li wore the Black Reaper uniform.

"Not all friends keep in contact," Li replied. They both laughed for a short while before they both got serious again.

"Shall we get in there then?" November 11 asked, Li nodded and the two of them walked towards the gates surrounding the building. November 11 pushed open the gates and Li slipped in easily. November 11 followed and closed the gates, Li moved quickly and swiftly as he moved towards the building with November 11 following behind him. Li reached the door and gently pushed it. The door opened and Li slipped inside like a shadow. November 11 watched as Li slipped inside before he followed.

"No matter how many times I watch the Black Reaper, he still amazes me to this day," he quietly told himself.

Kanami was working late that night. She always did because of the dolls that were located there. She felt that she had a special connection to them and if Misaki wasn't resting that night then neither will she. If BK-201 became active then she was going to be the first to know and the first to alert Misaki and her team. She often visited stargazer during the night as well to see how she was doing. She was the first doll that they ever found and she often spoke of prophecies and contractors involved with them. She had been strangely silent for a while. Until tonight, that is.

"Ah, two stars are approaching," Stargazer spoke as the sound of November 11's shoed echoed down the corridor. Kanami looked behind her at Stargazer before November 11 came into light, a smile was plastering his face but he didn't go for an attack.

"I brought a friend, but he's probably already by her." November 11 looked over at Stargazer.

"I thought you were on our side?" Kanami asked November 11. Li swiftly appeared behind Kanami and placed his hand on her shoulder, activating her ability, Kanami's body fell limp onto the floor.

"Must you always do that?" November 11 shook his head.

"Now we can't be disturbed," Li said before the two of them walked towards the Stargazer.

"We're here, Stargazer."

"Do you dream of a darkness darker than black? Do you dream of a paradise lighter than white?" Stargazer asked.

"Contractors don't dream," November 11 said.

"Under normal circumstances, most contractors can't. But contractors evolve just like people do. That's why not all contractors are like us. Individuals who can freely express emotions and half understand the emotions that others feel, there are contractors out there who can only keep a straight face and not understand how others are feeling. They're the contractors which are killed quickly. They use their power and then expect themselves to win. One of the many reasons why I hate contractors," Hei said as he looked over at November 11.

"That's a very weird way to view contractors."

"The stars are crying out. Twinkling in despair as they fight for survival...Twinkling for a world where they are free..." Stargazer said.

"That world cannot exist. Humans won't ever let contractors be a free because of how useful they are and the greed of humans." Li said quickly.

"What can we do about it anyway?" November 11 asked.

"Unite the stars...Create the world...Contractor of Molecular Manipulation...Contractor of Liquid-Induced Cryokinesis." Stargazer said. November 11 and Li looked at each other.

"I'll do the best I can, in this mission and assisting BK-201 with his personal mission." November 11 looked away from Stargazer and Li and looked towards Kanami. "We both know you're awake, recording this conversation."

November 11 arrived back in his apartment. The conversation that the two of them had with Stargazer was certainly something and from Li's actions, he didn't believed that it was going to happen. Every contractor not part of the same organisation meant that they were enemies. How were they going to get every contractor to work together? It was hard enough getting where he was now with Li but to near enough do so for every other contractor alive? That was a mission he was destined to fail. They still had the issue with Amber and the Meteor Shard to worry about first.

"Li's issue comes first before what Stargazer wanted."
