Chapter 27

November 11 looked down at the white envelope on the table. His name was written in pink on the white envelope, something he knew one person did. He knew that she had been following the two of them and letting the Meteor Shard get near him for a reason. He had been thinking over what the Stargazer called Li. The contractor of Molecular Manipulation...That was how Li was referred as, all the records that had been gathered by the MI-6 and Section 4 indicated that it was electrical manipulation. In reality it was molecular manipulation...so electricity was only the tip of the iceberg. November 11's mind was buzzing away at how far Li's power could go if he had the Meteor Shard in his hand. Looking over the envelope once more and reached over for it. Grabbing the letter and turning it over, opening up the letter he went to read it.

Dear November 11,

It's been a while since we met in person and I think now is the best time to talk about what I'm planning and how you can help Hei move on from what torments him. Don't you think? My team will come and find you.

November 11 put the letter down and looked outside the window. It wasn't unusual for Amber to deliver messages like this with others around but from what November 11 could read between the lines; Amber wanted to talk about Li. He was aware that Amber and Li had something going on but with his hatred towards her it wasn't positive. Something negative that had reached the point where even the mention of Amber flared up Li's walls to the point where no one could penetrate them. November 11 was still learning how to handle Li when he put his guards up like that but because it was rare when he did, November 11 didn't have enough experience to deal with the barrier. Li wasn't going to tell him what had happened between the two so if he wanted answers about that, he was going to have to talk to Amber about it. It was related to Heaven's War. That he knew. But he still wanted to know more. All he needed to do was go about his usual business and then Amber's team would come and pick him up. He already knew that she knew that he was going to follow the letter. Smiling to himself, he got up from his chair and headed to work. It wouldn't surprise him if Li was already out and about, doing whatever Li would do if he had free time.

"A walk doesn't feel like a bad idea," November 11 said as he started to leave the apartment.

Amber watched as the pieces formed together. At the current rate, November 11 was still going to try and take down the MI-6 and get heavily wounded but if he died or not depended on Hei's actions after he listened to the words she had to say. If anyone was going to change Hei's mind now, it was going to be November 11's words. The words that November 11 would choose would worm their way inside Hei's mind and kill the burning flame of rage inside him. That was all November 11 needed to do before Amber could then use Hei to save all the contractors and dolls. Of course that would mean that the humans had to die but that was worth it if it meant that contractors and dolls would be saved. Amber decided that now was going to be the best time to go and get November 11 onto her side. It would spark everything off earlier than intended but the Syndicate was going to make a move too and she wanted to be one step ahead of them.

Hei felt something was wrong, he wasn't sure what was wrong but he had the growing feeling that something big was going to happen and he was soon going to be dragged into the oncoming disaster. He should have just accepted what was going to happen he had received a message from Yin that Mao had been kidnapped while he was snoozing at the park. It wasn't just a normal animal control person as they had managed to block out the communicator bell that Mao wore. Only people who knew that he was a contractor would have removed the communicator bell away from him. Hei could only think of a few people who knew that Mao was a contractor. The Syndicate who hired him, November 11 or Amber, Amber was someone who knew a lot about what was going on but she refused to tell Hei what was going on just to tease him. She knew what had happened to Xing but she wasn't going to say anything, instead she was going to try and relight the flame he once had for her. Hei wasn't going to let her do that, not after finding a special place with November 11, the way he made him feel things that he had once forgotten about...November 11 was the person who Hei wanted to be with. He didn't know the reason but he longed for something that November 11 had managed to give back to him. The Black Reaper was needed again; putting on the uniform of the Black Reaper he was soon ready. He slipped on the mask and took to the ceilings of Tokyo to watch the city. The Syndicate had left him alone for some reason but told him to stay put in his apartment. Fat chance he was going to follow those orders. Hei slipped away into the darkness.

November 11 had been collected by Amber's team and brought right to her. The young female contractor smiled warmly at November 11 as he walked towards her in a black suit instead of his usual white suit.

"Did Li influence you that much?" Amber giggled.

"Maybe, but I'm sure I've influenced him somehow."

"I do have to admit that the future has changed since you and him bonded but the threat is still in place." November 11's face darkened slightly, the mention of a threat wasn't good news and he needed to be serious about this now. "There's someone I want you to meet as well, we took Dr. Schroeder too as he's important for this meeting."

"I wasn't even aware of this."

"No, the media is very secretive about this. PANDORA won't let any information out either. He'll be arriving soon though. He's just getting dressed like you had to."

"I know you have the meteor shard," November 11 said. "It's been causing hell for Li whenever it gets near him. Or is that what you're after?" Amber shook her head.

"It isn't me causing all Li's issues."

"Then what is?" November 11 asked, finding this information interesting. "If you're not doing it on purpose...then the meteor shard is reacting to him?"

"Yup, the meteor shard is reacting to his ability. It wants him to remember Heaven's War and what happened then. He was there. He was at the heart of the gate when it happened. When he remembers that, and fills his duty, they'll both stop reacting to each other and he'll be fine."

"Been a while, Mr. Cat."

"Yeah...well..." Mao replied grumpily. "Hei's probably being stupid and looking for me."

"You shouldn't take Li's actions lightly." November 11 spoke before the door opened and Robert Schroeder walked out. A dressing gown was covering him but November 11 saw the clothes poking out from under.

"Are all of you contractors?"

"Yes, even the cat." Amber smiled and the meeting started.

The meeting had finished and now it was time to take action. July had sent his spectre to November 11 to warn him that Li was coming and what was currently happening with the MI-6. He knew that now was going to be the time to take down the MI-6 corruption while assisting Li as much as possible with his own personal mission. Amber had already left as the buildings power was cut, indicating that the Reaper had arrived and entered the building. November 11 moved quickly to escape too, he didn't need to be in the battle between Li and Amber, that wasn't his place. He was going to wait until Li was ready to talk to him...that was the plan anyway but while November 11 moved to leave, he was grabbed by Li.

"I want you to be here...to help me," Li told him. He couldn't very well say no, so instead he let Li pull him.

"Are we going to find Amber?" November 11 nodded.

"Yes," Li replied back.

"Then this way," November 11 pulled Li in a direction, Li stayed on his feet as November 11 pulled him towards where Amber was last seen. A few seconds later and Li ripped himself from November 11 as he had caught sight of Amber. "Li, I'm going to take down the MI-6!"

"You'll die alone!"

"We'll go there after this then," November 11 shouted, hoping that Li would hear him. He saw him getting closer and closer to Amber...to the Meteor Shard. November 11 needed to move quickly if he was going to help Li through this. November 11 made his way to Li and Amber, moving as quickly as possible to reach the pair of them just as Li grabbed Amber and was ready to discharge.

Dear November 11,
