Chapter 5

The scenery passed quickly as November 11 drove quickly to pick up his partners, April and July. November 11 gave a quick glance at Hei out of the corner of his light blue eyes while he drove; it looked strange seeing the Black Reaper sitting calmly in the passenger seat. November 11 had already contacted April to inform her of the situation, she had reluctantly agreed to sit in the back of the car with July than having BK-201 sit near July in the car. November 11 had returned the mask and the 'Black Reaper uniform' as BK-201 called it while they were out. He had told him that he didn't want Misaki seeing him for her own protection. When November 11 questioned it BK-201 didn't say anything.

"You're quiet," November 11 commented while driving. No reply. No matter how hard November 11 tried to strike a conversation with Hei, he always shot it down without any issues. He knew that the Black Reaper was quiet on the field, never speaking any words, letting his body speak for him but November 11 wished to hear his voice more. He did believe that speaking as the Black Reaper would just feel weird as he was normally silent, but was it also because of the reputation of the Black Reaper?

November 11 parked outside April's apartment, stopping the engine he pulled out his phone and sent a text to April. He watched the Black Reaper stare out the window, he couldn't figure out what was running through his mind, with the mask shielding his face from the harsh sun shining through the window and onto BK-201's face. November 11 had the flap down in front of the car stopping the sun from reaching him. It didn't surprise him that BK-201 wasn't bothered by the sun. The way that his mask was designed blocked out the sun when needed.

"When is she coming?" Hei asked November 11.

"I've texted her, she'll be getting ready," November 11 told Hei. Silence fell between the two contractors. It wasn't unnatural when Hei was in the Black Reaper uniform; he wasn't friends with November 11 so he didn't need to talk. They weren't companions or allies; just two opponents who don't mean anything to each other, both sides were just waiting for the Black Reaper to recover fully before November 11 could try and take him down. He knew it was pointless but they knew that their battles were more than just show and tell about which one was stronger.

April walked out from the apartment building with July holding her hand. The two of them walked towards the car, November 11 waved at April as she opened the car door and gently slipped July in, July shuffled over to the other side of the car as April climbed in.

"So we have the Black Reaper in the car too," April smiled.

"I wouldn't," November 11 warned her, she nodded before she giggled.

"Has November 11 seen under that mask?"

"I have," November 11 told her as he drove off, Hei remained quiet as usual. There wasn't any point in talking to April; he could deal with November 11 but April...not so much.

Under the Mask – Chapter 5

November 11 was practically dragging Hei to Misaki's office, April and July were walking ahead of the two as July wanted to see Misaki, and April didn't have any problems. April turned her attention to November 11 and smiled.

"Having fun?" April teased.

"Keep walki-" November 11 was stopped as Hei yanked on the chain to pull away, November 11 managed to stay on his feet but the resistance that Hei was putting up was really annoying him. He wanted to see Misaki and the Black Reaper wasn't letting him. "BK-201, stop resisting!" November 11 yelled at the Black Reaper. They stood there in silence for a short time before Hei tried to run away from the office. November 11 growled and pulled the chain back before Hei had the chance, the force of the pull managed to knock Hei off balance.

"November 11?" Everyone's attention turned towards the direction where the voice came from, Misaki Kirihara stood there. Her eyes widened at the sight of the Black Reaper, quickly pulling out her gun and aimed it at the Reaper.

"We were coming to see you," November 11 sighed as he released the chain. Hei regained his balance but didn't say anything. Misaki was here, if she unmasked him then things were going to be worse.

"You have BK-201 chained to you?" Misaki asked.

"Yup, pet BK-201," April joked, Hei didn't react much to April's annoyance, she wanted some form of reaction to her statement. Hei growled on the inside, he wasn't anyone's pet.

"Let me unmask him," Misaki said.

"No, he isn't going to be unmasked today," November 11 told Misaki.

"Why not today?" Misaki demanded from November 11.

"You called me, April and July here for a reason, what's the issue?" November asked trying to change the subject.

"It's about BK-201...but I'm guessing you've kept him alive for a reason?"

"I'm going to be handing him over to PANDORA," November 11 lied. Hei gulped slightly before he mentally slapped himself, there was no way November 11 would give him to PANDORA, that wouldn't be rational on his part. Giving up the chance to study his movements wasn't something that November 11 was going to give up so easily.

"Why haven't you done so by now?" Misaki asked.

"Do you have the meteor shard?" November 11 asked.

"No."

'Amber holds the meteor shard,' Hei thought to himself, she was the last person to hold the meteor shard after handing it over to Huang when he infiltrated PANDORA. He saw her a couple of times but was acting as Li out in the open, he couldn't risk alerting the people that he was a contractor in daylight. He had to remain undercover.

"That's good then," November 11 smiled.

"Why are you asking for the meteor shard?" Misaki asked.

"We find the meteor shard, we find Amber," November 11 told her, his eyes shifted towards BK-201, his hands had curled into fists and were shaking slightly.
