The is a photo of my Archer costume along with the two swords that I finished a few days before Supanova Sydney. I didn't end up wearing it for Supanova but took the chance to get photos of it while I was staying in Newcastle with *juunana and *AizenSousukePhoto by (Thank you so much!)

i'm supposed to make rebecca another sword for her character next year, so i need to buy some plywood or something....and scott's gotta have a pike/spear thing....^^ i get a gun *is falling in love with making weapons*

Pine is fairly cheap but you do have to buy a full length or half lenth of it at Bunnings (which is way more than you need) but they will cut it for you. If you have a jig saw and sander it is fairly easy to work with as well and dosn't dissintergrate like MDF.
You really do have a busy weapon making time ahead!

mmm.....how long is a half length, do ya think? coz i'm making my fun outta super-sculpty, and scotts pike/spear thing would be about 1/2 a meter, and rebecca's blade about a meter and a bit...neither are too wide, so perhaps i should by a half length? and fit both in?
lol i've got exams coming up, but as soon as they are over i'm getting straight into cosplay! i WILL be ready a month early this year, i swear to god! *said same thing last year and ended up making Assasin 3 days before manifest T_T*

I think a full length is 4.8m and a half length is 2.4.
Good luck with your exams and yes starting cosplay early is a good idea!
