In the same style as my Avatar: The Last Airbender shipping meme, I bring you the Invader Zim shipping meme, here to bring forth love-pigs. In doing this, I realized how many minor characters getting shipping prominence in fandom and how few women there were in this show. Perhaps that's why the slash fandom for the show is so big; when the women are scarce, it's that or be celibate.A devart user from another country pointed out that squick is an exclusively one-country word and people might need a definition, so I added one instead of going with the fandom standby of 'hate'. I don't hate pairings, I have some that I just don't like and never will. There's a difference, hence squick instead of hate.
My fill of this thing will be up in a couple minutes, for those interested.

You know, Invader Zim is one of few places where every single pairing is messed up. It's all varying degrees of weird. Even the het pairings are just kind of off.

Well, there's Dib/Gretchen. ...Though she's an incredibly minor character, and aside from the one time she was crushing on him she seems to pick on him right along with everybody else.
Yeah, shipping is possible in IZ, but if Vasquez wanted a no-romance show he did just about as well as anybody could.

Somehow, in attempting to make a no-romance show, all resulting possible romances become messed up. The closest thing to normal is Gretchen and Dib - a silent stalker with probable self esteem issues (her parents are in the background once and they are GORGEOUS) and a paranormal investigator with a broken family and a martyr complex.

To be fair, I'm not sure why some people consider her a stalker...even if her numerous meats were coming on a little strong.

Because, at least from the perspective of those of us with boobies, 'I love this boy madly yet I have never spoken to him' is stalkery. Maybe things work differently from your POV, but that kind of thing is acceptable for like a week before all women begin to consider it to be crossing a line.
