Description
"The wickedness that a vampire holds runs through their every vein, so pure in vile that it destroys even themselves. Yet they cannot hold a substance so natural as blood without falling to sluggish and ill appearance. Their monstrous being is in the utmost disgusting piece of sheer humanity I've come across in all my travels." - Demetrius Falk
So Inktober started (five days ago ahem) and even though I was a bit late I wanted to join in anyhow so I ended up doing the first three drawings in one day. This first prompt was "poison." Vampires in the world of Project Cotton have a poison in their fangs that causes delirium and in days of their prime particularly cruel ones often kept their victims in such a state for up to a week, having their way with helpless people as they pleased. It was often believed then that all vampires were incredibly handsome, charming, and highly deceptive to lure people into their homes. However, reports of vampire attacks not matching this description eventually got rid of that notion (though most still associate such an image with vampires). Theories arose of vampires needing to balance their blood intake, either too much or too little sending them into a defunct state and some suggest even to a risk of death.
As for the drawing itself, some of the anatomy feels off like the woman's neck for instance I'm pretty happy with it. Still figuring out different shading and hatching to do to make different parts stand apart from each other but it's been fun practicing with fineliners again (I use a Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen). I still need to figure out how vampires look exactly too, I was just winging it in this drawing ovo'
