Description        I heard the door bell and ran to the door. I had just set the table and made dinner: chicken for my parents and a quite elaborate salad for my vegetarian brother, so I was ready for my family. I opened the door and smiled. There stood a slightly older couple and a boy of 17, my family. My brother, Andy, had blonde hair and blue eyes and smiled when he saw me. My parents smiled too. They both had grey hair and wrinkles in their faces. I invited them in, and we all sat down and ate.
"This house is beautiful, Alex." My mom remarked. Dad nodded in agreement.
"Yeah," I said, "I couldn't believe the price I got this place for. It's like they were dying to get rid of it."
Just then I heard a voice, "Ha ha, very funny..." it whispered sarcastically. I turned to my brother.
       "What'd you say?" I asked.
He furrowed his brow. "Uh, I didn't say anything." He told me.
"Honey, is something wrong?" My mom asked.
"Uhm, no, I'm fine." I said, and continued, "Anyway, this place is kinda creepy."
       "How?" Andy asked.
"Well, it sort of just creeps me out. I feel like I'm being watched sometimes." I told them, and started collecting the plates, to bring to the kitchen.
My dad smiled, "Maybe it's haunted, and the ghosts are watching you," He said, covering his eyes and peering through his fingers.
He laughed and my mom swatted at his arm. "Richard," she scolded. My brother groaned and looked away, clearly embarrassed by our goofy parents.
"I'll be right back," I said, walking toward the kitchen. On the way there, I walked past the bathroom. While walking past said bathroom, in the doorway I saw a kid, not like a baby but someone around my brothers age. He had black hair and was wearing dark clothing but other than that I didn't see much of him.
I jumped and looked in his direction. There was no one there now, he was gone with a blink of my eyes, but I stood there, staring at where he had stood. I don't know exactly why I did that, what I was expecting.
I put the dishes in the sink and walked back to my family. We talked for a while, and eventually they left. I finally got a chance to try out the shower in this old place, and it was nice. It was my first shower since I'd moved, so I finally felt like my past was behind me and I'd never have to face it again.
I got on my PJ's and got into bed. I stayed up for a few minutes to read Alice in Wonderland, but once I was finished, I cuddled up into my covers and slept soundly.

I got out of bed, and found my tooth brush and tooth paste. I brushed my teeth and pulled open the cabinet door above the sink, putting my tooth brush in it. When I closed it, in the mirror that hung on the door I saw a little girl. She had blonde curls and a very fancy turtle neck dress on. She smiled at me and I felt a knot in my stomach. I felt something rising up my throat and couldn't stop the loud scream that escaped my lips. I turned and she was gone. I don't know weather it was relief or more fear I felt when she wasn't behind me, but I sighed in relief anyway, leaning on the sink.
I stood there for what felt like forever until I finally got the nerve to walk out of the bathroom. I got dressed quickly and went downstairs into the kitchen and called RJ.
       "Hello?"
"Hey, RJ, wanna get breakfast together?" I asked him.
"Uh, sure. You want me to pick you up or...?" He questioned.
       "Yeah, that'd be awesome."
"Kay, see you in a few minutes."
       "Bye."
       "Bye."
With that I hung up and grabbed my wallet. He was at my house soon and we went to a local restaurant.
"So why the sudden meeting?" He asked and shoved a fork full of pancakes in his mouth.
I looked at him. "What, a girl can't just wake up in the morning and want to hang out with her best buddy?" I reached across the table and gave him an awkward, playful arm-punch.
He looked at me over his glasses, raising his eyebrows. I sighed.
"Okay, you're right." I told him, He nodded. "I...I was in my bathroom brushing my teeth, and when I looked in the mirror I saw...well... a little girl." RJ completely stopped eating and stared at me. "I mean, I'm not crazy, right?" I asked.
He paused, swallowing, then leaned in toward me.
"Look," He said, "I think you're under a lot of stress, with the break up, dropping out, and now you're moving, and getting a new job. You just need to get everything back on track, and I'm sure you'll be fine."
I smiled, he always seemed to know what to say. "Thanks, RJ, you're a good friend."
"I know," he said, "Now eat your flapjacks."
