Description Conceptual scribble for a remotely flown/radio controlled 6 channel Eagle either as a ridge soarer or HLG or powered (by installation of a prop and beak shaped spinner on the nose). Incorporates a novel concept of pitch and yaw stability and control with a universal joint at the tail, actuated by two servos allowing up and down action for pitch and a rolling action left and right for yaw (similar to a real bird), gyro stabilized to compensate for the lack of vertical stabilizer that would provide static stability in yaw. Wings incorporate 'flaperons' which flex rather than pivot at a hinge point and can reflex and flex down to 50 degrees, working in tandem for wing camber adjustment (in conjunction with the tail) and individually for roll also in conjunction with the tail.

Construction is moulded carbon fiber with foam cores in the wings, primary 'finger' feathers on the wing tips are another novel concept of separate 'feathers' of lightweight silicone moulded over carbon 'rachis' that can flex with load and can function independently to stabilize the wing tips and provide washout and together mange turbulent flow at the tips. At a later phase I will investigate some method of manipulating these finger feathers to help stabilize and induce roll, opening up at high alpha like slats to resist delay the stall, the Alula leading edge will pivot outwards at it's root acting as a slat and dogtooth LE, even a stall strip[, further delaying stall and in conjunction with all the systems on the wing allowing for natural maneuvering and far greater control through all phases of flight and delaying the onset of the stall.

The servo arms are protected by 'ventral strakes' on the rear of the belly providing stability and landing skids. The wing airfoils transition from deep undercambered at the roots to a modified NACA4404 at the tips (before the primaries) each primary feather incorporates approximately an M6 cross section.

Overall span 1.4m
Length 600mm
Weight projected to be around 900g
4 micro servos, 2 axis gyro, 6 channel Rx Futaba, powered by a 3.7v lipo (glider)
