I've spent some time thinking of a cool picture of Tenten. I wanted to draw her in the worst way. Mainly, because she is shown such little love in the fan art world. I really wanted to put her personality into this picture, but so little is known about her. This is pretty odd considering the manga goes into such detail about everyone else's background. I guess in Japan they know a bit more about her. She's been in a few filler episodes that are going on right now. It really makes me wonder about the writing in the series. Why does he do into such detail about everyone, but HER? She's the only character in the Leaf village that appears more Chinese then Japanese.I do know she is a weapons master. It took a while, but I thought about seeing the aftermath of her practice. Notice the target on the tree that has three kunai right on the dead center. I put the rest of the weapons there, because it's just intimidating to see all that in the tree.
I know all the kunai in the series have white wrappings, but I thought making a couple red would look more interesting.
The name carved in the tree has a small touch to it. Notice the second 'T' looks a little sloppy. That is a small nod to the fact that her name is often spelled wrong. It's "Tenten".

Now that's what I'm talking about ! Thanks, it's so rare to fine good badass pictures about Tenten, I was starting to think I should do one myself ... actualy, I should. There, on the todo list ... number 16. T_T so much work to do.
But I'm not here to talk about myself! I love every details of this masterpiece! The background rocks. The colors, those beautiful greens, the shape of the leaves, the lightening effect ... that's outstanding work. Now the weapons. The poor tree, why so much hatred for trees? They did nothing wrong. and yet look how this one practicly bleeds to death ... what the hell was I saying again ... Ah yeah, the weapons. They all look really well done. Maybe you should ... I don't know. There is always a way to get better but i can't help you here, sorry ^^. I just noticed you shadowed the second needle because of her arm. Man you rock so much it hurts XD. Now Tenten ... ho god I love her, thanks you so much, If I could I'll fave you a hundred times. Now if there is a way to do that tell me please XD. The pose is stunning, so badass, so cool, so like her. She deserve a spinoff. No, two, and a game! I just can't get my eyes off her. The coloring on her hair, the shadowing of her outfit ... it's just perfect. Wanna draw now. Wanna draw something beautiful ... thank you so much !

Thanks. I was surprised by the lack of quality fan art of Tenten, but when you consider how much she's shown in the manga it shouldn't be too surprising.
I wouldn't call it hatred to the tree. It's just shows the intensity of her training.

ya know whats weird...Masashi says her style is his favorite, yet he completely ignores her background, it's as if he is neglecting her powers. That's my only problem with Kishimoto...but other than that he is one of the coolest people i have ever heard of!

I'm glad that people like you take such consideration into the unknown like Tenten. I'm Nejiten obsessed so I know a lot about Tenten (if I do say so myself). Tenten is 5 inches shorter than Neji, her blood type is B, her accuracy is perfect (but is only called a weapon mistress in fanfictions), she has a secret admiration for Neji (hence "secret admirer"), her real name is Tian-Tian, her pink top is actually blue in manga, Kishimoto-sama likes her design the best (don't know why), and she wears chest-bindings. ^^ yup, that's all I can think of on the spot. If any of this information I've gathered here gives you some sort of inspiration, please tell me so I can go dance in accomplishment. XD

I wouldn't call her unknown. She is a character in one of the most popular mangas out there.
Sorry, didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. You left out the fact that Ten-ten is more of a nickname then anything. Meaning she hits ten out of ten targets. Also out of the cast her design is more Chinese then Japanese.

Oh...well, that Chinese thing was obvious (and stereotyping). *shrug* Well, I still appreciate that you have an author's note explaining your deep thoughts into making your art. I do the same kind of hard research for when I'm writing my fanfictions. Age, height, blood type (in times of tragedies), flowers that have meaning, filler episode occasions that could be used against characters (like Laughing Shino, the Onba Incident, when Sakura thought Naruto was asking Hinata on a date, etc).
