I've spent some time thinking of a cool picture of Tenten. I wanted to draw her in the worst way. Mainly, because she is shown such little love in the fan art world. I really wanted to put her personality into this picture, but so little is known about her. This is pretty odd considering the manga goes into such detail about everyone else's background. I guess in Japan they know a bit more about her. She's been in a few filler episodes that are going on right now. It really makes me wonder about the writing in the series. Why does he do into such detail about everyone, but HER? She's the only character in the Leaf village that appears more Chinese then Japanese.I do know she is a weapons master. It took a while, but I thought about seeing the aftermath of her practice. Notice the target on the tree that has three kunai right on the dead center. I put the rest of the weapons there, because it's just intimidating to see all that in the tree.
I know all the kunai in the series have white wrappings, but I thought making a couple red would look more interesting.
The name carved in the tree has a small touch to it. Notice the second 'T' looks a little sloppy. That is a small nod to the fact that her name is often spelled wrong. It's "Tenten".
I'm very proud of the background. You can see my Scraps album to see my original concept sketch.

Thanks. This character is actually one of the lesser known. Very little is known about her. Also the manga has never showed her fighting. Only the aftermath.

it looks like something from the opening of a cartoon. (think trigun)

aside from tsubasa and other things, i don't think the japanese are big into spin-offs.

I made this up completely out of my head. Normally I would of made ehr eyes a lil' more narrow, but since he's young I kept them larger.

She is a weapon master. Thought it would look cool to show the tree she targets just filled with weapons. Wish I had used a lil' more variety in weapons though. My favorite touch is showing her pulling the kunai out.

Thanks. I like keeping things simple, but detailed. Most people draw the girls looking cute or weak. I like drawing them tough.

This is a really kick ass picture of Tenten. I mean, it is just so damn good. I'd have to say my favorite part of the picture is the background, it just looks so detailed and of course Tenten herself looks great. :3
I love her myself, and am saddened that she has no background in the manga or anime. Maybe one day Kishimoto will surprise us and actually go into detail of her life... but that might be far off, considering how the manga is right now.

hopefully author-man won't start in her death throes. thatz always the worse time to input crap like that...flashbacks before yu die are realistic and all but itz rather dumb to get the reader to symphathize then and now.

Thanks. I was pissed how Tenten is pretty much unexplored. The anime gives us a little bit of info. She seems to love money and boys. There are some sketches in my Scraps album about her.
I'm amazed how in the manga we have never seen her fight. We only ever see the aftermath.

(i don't like neji) As for the Chinese banning foreign animation, I heard it is because theirs is so behind that they don't want their citizen to know? anyway, nice job

That would be funny. I think more of it has to do withshe mostly uses weapons and they might not want a teen girl stabbing people all the time to win.
She is more of a Chinese style character. Like her name and her clothes. Japan and the Chinese are kind of having a fight with art and animation. Recently China put a ban on foreign animations on the prime time hours to give more time to the Chinese artist. Kind of butting heads.
At this point it might become a running joke to never see her fights in the manga.
