This chase near Hot Springs, South Dakota featured storm structure and a fairly stunning sunset, but my favorite image of the day was this tight telephoto composition of an explosive updraft near Buffalo Gap, SD. As these storms moved off of the Black Hills they would slowly cycle and die down, but their initial encounter with enhanced moisture and instability along the foothills provided an impressive last hurrah
