EDIT: The weird cinematic style border was bothering me, so I changed it to something simpler. I hope it didn't reduce the composition quality. I also resized it so it's not crazy on bandwidth
*Please download image to view in original size*I'm back on Deviantart! I hope I improved even though I haven't drawn for some time. I loved working on this piece. I feel that it's a big improvement from my previous drawings. I'm trying to learn how to paint more now, working more with backgrounds. I loved working on every detail of this pic at 300% this size! I forgot that some things would be lost after I brought the image size down to a reasonable dimension

I could stare at this all day! The contrast between the girl and the snow and bamboo really makes the picture pop out!

This image is very pretty. The background may be simple although I think it fits perfectly with the figure. You did a very good job with the coloring and shading. The woman is pretty and I really like her outfit. You added some very nice extra touches to the clothing fabric and the sword.
It is always great to read about an individual enjoying the process of their art. I read far to often that people are not enjoying creating their art and are simply fulfill commissions here on DA.

The outfit is so intricate and wonderful... I simply adore the character's expression, too, and the bamboo grove setting.

I think that it's very gorgeous. Stunning even. There's a mystical quality with the blurred lines of the bamboo thingies (those are bamboo thingies, right?) and the faint shine of the sword.
