Description My first symbol based flash animation. Because this method is so popular in the industry right now I figured I would practice with it and work my way to get some in my portfolio.

This is a test of the character. A walk cycle is a great way to work out all the bugs.
The way these things works is, several graphic symbols are connected at pivot points where they can be rotated and animated frame by frame. A few of these symbols are little movies with their own time lines so you can work in "overlapping actions"

I'll still need to add more symbols for this character to be usable but it is pretty close.
You may notice the sleved arms weird behavior, yes it needs work.

I'm glad you like it Demonotica.
Added a little more give to the symbols I'm using so they can rotate a little better. I'm still not really satisfied with this walk though. It's a little jumpy. Driving me crazy. Maybe it’s the medium; it could just be a restriction of symbol based Flash animation.
The character is a little complex for such a method.
For my next character I'll simplify a lot more.
