Description
"When you base your expectations only on what you see, you blind yourself to the possibilities of a new reality." ZaheerI personally believed that Korra kind of dropped off after Book 1 but the Red Lotus were a pretty brutal teams of extreme benders which brought back the martial arts focus somewhat lost since Avatar proper. Topping it off with the spiritualism/nihilism of Zaheer voiced by none other than Black Flag lead singer Henry Rollins (whom I met while Book 3 was airing, he was mailing out tapes for his show 10 Things You Don't Know About on the History Channel's H2 at the store which I worked at the time. It was pretty cool!XD). I liked his beard look more, looks more burned out than neo-nazi like his later look which the look Rollins sometimes gives off.
So this was another summer art challenge from and was the hardest of all, Digital with a full background! I am not great with perspective or straight inorganic shapes so a prison is extra difficult. I made him smaller to show more of the background which was the really challenge. I was really torn between this "hard lighting" like the show had or using a softer lighting which would illuminate more of the picture, ultimately I chose this to really cement the focus on the overall picture and not just the person as I usually do.
Ultimately it was a fun/challenging project that reminded me that not everything after book 1 of Korra sucked. I might post just Zaheer up as well since you cant see much of him.
