At the age where foals learn to use magic, Fuji was trying to cut some apples (under the supervision of Rarity of course). His control over holding the knife was a bit shaky at first, almost dropping it at times, but after a moment of adapting, he cut the apple. Surprisingly, he could cut it up quite fast and in almost equal proportion. And that was when he got his cutie mark. In contrast to other skills that required his horn magic, Fuji’s magic could not help him as accurately. His magic was average, but the control and accuracy in cutting apples were breathtaking. Fuji was a bit skeptical of his talent at first (cutting apples, seriously? That’s so specific!) but Pastel helped him discover the decorative element of his skills.

As they were born by different mothers (Fuji by AJ, Pastel by RD), they only have a few months difference in age. So, they are quite close to each other. They often helped each other out in school, and often came as a package to friends. When they grew old enough to fly and use horn magic, their relationship grew strained. Pastel was often off to train with Rainbow, and at school, they had to take different magic classes. Fuji could often hear Rainbow going full instructor mode and yelling at Pastel during their training sessions. He felt uneasy but didn’t dare to confront his mother cause parents knew best right? When Pastel went mute, he was too afraid to try and help her. At that point in time, they were more like estranged friends than siblings and their parents surrounding Pastel all the time did not help in giving them the chance to talk. A few days after family therapy started, he finally saw the chance to talk to Pastel. Using his talent, he carved an apple into the shape of Pastel and gave it to her as a gift. Pastel, seeing this, smiled and hugged him. From then on, their relationship slowly improved.

Chaos magic isn’t very stable, so the charm to let one become male sometimes resulted in a mutation of a gene, luckily none of their foals have gotten cancer. Fuji’s mutation is his piebaldism, which resulted in the orange splotches on his white body. Surprisingly, he wasn’t bullied much at school. There were few ponies in town that also had this kind of coat, and there were much more unusual ponies to bully. Fuji was actually well-liked. With his polite and friendly personality as well as the spectacular performances of carving apples, many foals were friends with him, and a few fillies and colts even confessed.

Fuji keeps his tail long and styles them in this way because of Rarity. He has slightly curly hair from his mother’s genes, and that’s what makes it easy to style his tail in such a fancy manner. Besides, his boyfriend doesn’t mind it so he will keep it.

Surprisingly, Fuji is a creature-pleaser (like people pleaser but in this world). Unlike Pastel’s “ahhh, I gotta run around and do things to keep others happy”, Fuji is more of a smile when creatures are around, worry about others when alone kind of pony. He often employs gifts to bribe others when they seem unhappy. Fuji hates it when others look sad or anxious, he feels helpless and wants to find something to make them feel happy again, perhaps out of guilt for being unable to help Pastel when they were young. So he doesn’t like being around unhappy creatures. As a way to make himself feel helpful, he would give them material gifts as replacement for his company, hoping that they don’t actually hate him for these habits.

Currently, Fuji works as a promoter for the farm. During events, a rise of orders will come out for cakes, and he would work at Sugarcube corner by cutting up apples as cake decors and sometimes even ventures into other mediums. He is a sort of perfectionist so during these times he would often overwork himself. Pastel and his boyfriend often had to come down to convince him to eat and take a rest.
