When I was still in school I would be coming home with nearly straight A's.
Mom and dad were proud that I'm doing so good. They would be ones telling their friends "she's learning it all! She's been taught so much and knows it all."
But now I know that despite learning about Pythagoreans theorem, The civil war, E=MC^2 and that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell that I was actually taught nothing at all.
I was never taught about Nikola Tesla, I was never taught about the "father of gynecology" and how he mutilated black women and dehumanized them.
I was never taught about how the Japanese were treated like Jews over in nazi Germany at the hands of my own government after Pearl Harbor, I nevereven learned the truth behind why Pearl Harbor happened.
I was never taught the facts about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I was never taught that there was strong and adamant opposition against using the bombs.
I was never taught about the rapes, assaults and travesties that were committed by the soldiers of the US government during Vietnam and Korea. I was never taught about the bastard children left fatherless or the women mangled by STDs from the US boys.
I was never taught about why people spat on the troops that came back from Vietnam or Korea.
I was never taught about the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. I was never taught about the discrimination and hatred towards the Chinese immigrants that came as workers to build the Transpacific railroad.
I never learned about the horrors the Chinese workers faced until I read a fictional ghost story called the Hungry ghost.
I never learned about how Irish and Italians along with hispanics and orientals were also slaves.
I was never taught about the Black Panthers or Neo Nazis till 2017. I was never taught that racism had never died.
I never learned that Ghandi and Mother Theresa both believed that suffering was a gift of god.
I was never taught about the facts behind the US troops and Sudam Hussian. I was never taught that it was never about people but about oil.
I was never taught that it's okay to acknowledge that there is race.
I was never taught about how the original thirteen Colonies were the states that enacted the Miscegenation laws or that it last until 1967.
I was never taught about how Hawaii was stolen from the natives and them used as a test from deadly weapons and bombs.
I was never taught about Christopher Columbus was stripped of his name and titled by the queen because of his crimes towards the natives.
