I love, love, love this...and I would favorite it, but after 1,588 [favs] what would it really mean to ya at this point. You kind of get the idea you did a good job on this right? ^_<
There seems to be a general yellow hue to it, I dont know if you used a filter or not, but I think that sets a "feeling" for it. It gives me the feeling that a storm could be brewing, on a summer afternoon. Watching the wheat rustle in the wind. It makes me feel like home is not far away!! And that "he" will always come back to me.
So that says nothing about the actual piece itself now does it, but I believe a good photographer sets a mood, a feeling, that the viewer walks away with remembering that exact feeling for quite a while. (this piece has done that, therefore you are a true artist). I think every good artist wants you to walk away with something greater than 'that was a good piece of art'.
However, the colors and composition are great! Even the angle/level of the shot is good (eye level with the wheat).

This piece is brilliant, with atmosphere and mood of cinematic quality. Reminds me of movies like Amelie and A Very Long Engagement.

When I first saw this I was going to say it reminded me of those Gladiator scenes, but I realized that everyone else here thought pretty much the same thing so I won't say that haha. Anyway, fantastic portrait and great color. I loved your comment, too, btw

Garrit,
I enjoyed looking at your gallery. the work you are presenting is coherent, seen with a poetic sensibility I can empathize with. Thanks for your images.
Also, I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. How do you go about selling your prints? How do you go about being featured? In other words, how can this site work if you want more exposure?
Looking forward to hearing from you

This is a really nice shot...very quite, calm but with a lot of emotion around it. I love the soft feel of everything, how his one hand is almost idly trailing along beside him, touching the wheat. The colors are great as well, with the field being quite uniform and then the jeans and his body being different, but not startlingly so. Lovely.
