History:

One of the four surviving offspring of The Progenitor, The Devourer was a particularly hideous beast with a ravenous appetite. The Devourer was first sighted about a week after the encounter with The First Born, and quickly showed an uncanny level of coordination with her siblings. The Devourer would use her tentacle-like tongues to ensnare operatives and drag them into her acidic maw. She could even tear apart vehicles with these tongues, each lined with sharp barbs to ensure that whatever was grabbed would not escape.

The beast had a preference for ambush tactics, for when The First Born and The Mauler would perform frontal assaults, The Devourer would spring out from behind trees or thick vegetation with her tongues, snaring several men at a time before swallowing them whole. These coordinated attacks would almost always be successful, with the siblings seemingly changing tactics to throw off the human invaders. Often one of the creature's would pretend to be wounded or dead, only for the others to jump out and attack.

After numerous skirmishes with the US Army detachment stationed in Ashdowne, The Devourer and her siblings managed to break the containment perimeter around the town and escape into the outside world. The First Born and The Devourer headed south towards Philadelphia, using forests and lakes to travel undetected. The mutants would often raid farms on the countryside, feasting on livestock and any unfortunate human they came across. Should the mutants reach Philadelphia or another populated area, the human casualties would be immense...
