Appearance: Azazel is an Adeptus Asterte standing at 8 metres and 11 inches in height. He wears standard Blood Angels power armour with a jump pack, both of these covered in blood, scratches or old gunshot marks. He does not wear a helmet, and his face is heavily scarred and marked by three bullets embedded into his skull. His face is quite plain, and had he been a citizen he would have blended into a crowd quite easily. He has one purity seal on his left pauldron that is stained by fresh blood and where it is not stained, covered with dried blood. Azazel refuses to have it restored.
Wargear: Azazel carries a standard Mk.X "Hell's Teeth" pattern chainsword in his left hand. It is covered with scratches and it also has a small chipped golden Aquila set into the hilt. It is most often seen covered in blood and gore, or such materials.
In his right hand he carries a Master-Crafted Power Axe, which has the words "Ne inimici hominis ingredi etiam potentius quam enim iterum percutiesque percussit cum eis" written on the hilt. This translates to "Suffer not the Enemies of Man to live, for they shall return with more strength than when you smote them". It is always clean and shining off the battlefield, because Azazel constantly polishes it, with his own hand if no other materiel comes to bear.
He has no grenades at all, and he has refused time and time again to carry firearms.
Abilities/skills: He has developed a talent for Jump Pack combat, and he does have a remarkable resistance, even for a Space Marine, to the ground-shock from the impact of landing from a Jump. Also, there is, seemingly, no limit to his energy, which means that he can, and will, fight for days on end with no pause.

History: Azazel was an anonymous onlooker who had proved himself during an accident at a Blood Angels practice event on Baal. The Carnifex the Blood Angel veterans were fighting escaped from the enclosure that served as a miniature arena, and while the other civilians fled, Azazel picked up a chainsword that a fallen Blood Angels recruit had dropped, and attempted to beat the Carnifex back. He survived multiple lacerations across his torso, and countless smaller ones across his arms and legs, as well as trauma across his muscles from swinging the chainsword. He lasted thirty-seven seconds by himself before the Blood Angel veterans managed to beat down the beast. He was recruited shortly before an Apocethary fixed his injuries.
Once he was enlisted as an Aspirant, he went through the Blood Angel tests with seemingly no major trouble. He gained, and to this day holds, the record for the shortest time taken to cross the desert. A notable fact is that he did wake up during the incubation process, and to the surprise of many, remained quite sane during the rest of his time within the sarcophagi. He was known to share conversation and jokes to the Apocatheries that attended the sarcophagi, asking questions such as "How's the weather out there?" and such in a most friendly manner. Naturally the Apocatheries were humoured by the man.
When he was enlisted into the Tenth Company, he got along very well with the other trainees, and even then exhibited an aptitude for melee weapons and Deep-Strike manoeuvres. He was enrolled into the Second Company after his stint in the Third War for Armageddon, where he rushed out from cover to engage Ork heavy infantry with nothing but his combat knife. He does have that same knife, today, but he rarely ever uses it in combat.
As soon as he was enrolled in the second company, he was assigned to the Assault Sergeant Thylosior, in the ten-marine Assault squad that the company possessed. He soon developed an aptitude for close combat, assault tactics and gained a reputation for keeping cool in prolonged fights. But the company was deployed to fight the Chaos Horde incoming to attack the Baal System, and while his squad was assaulting a position of a Chaos fortified unit, he recalled "a dark fury taking hold of his very mind". And as such, he went insane from that 'dark fury'. Apocatheries and Chaplains alike have not recognised it to be the Black Rage. These were the events and circumstances that led to his current condition.
What truly happened on that battlefield was unclear, but the Blood Angels retreated from the area, seemingly forsaking one of their own. Azazel recalls waking up facing upwards, surrounded by the corpses of Chaos Space Marines and Cultists alike, chainsword wounds and power axe marks alike scarring them. These disturbing sights, coupled with his insanity, truly broke his mind, and now they are just fragments of random thought that anyone short of an Alpha Level Psyker has any hope of drawing any sense or meaning from. This means that he is a stuttering wreck in everyday life, when his insanity does not take a hold.
But when he ventures near a battlefield, he can recall a deep, almost feral, mixture of anger, joy and evil take him. This also helps to piece together every fragment of his mind that is related to combat, and makes him a bat-shit crazy, fearless killing machine on the battlefield. When the battle cools, however, he can be reclassified as a stuttering wreck barely in control of his own mind.
Today he is a loyal wreck barely in control of his own mind, lost from his unit. Strangely no-one seems to want to return him to said unit, and the Blood Angels themselves give him up as lost, or dead. When shown to the enemies of Man, however, he is first and foremost in the charge, jumping down onto the front lines of Demon, Heretic, Mutant and Xenos forces alike without slightest bit of fear or hesitation, no matter how great the enemy.
