Daniel strives to be someone other people can trust and encourages all the younger and newer campers to come to him for advice, regardless of their cabin. During his time at camp, he has learned particularly about how to help confused, distressed, or disbelieving demigods and often stays up late nights to help the newer campers. He’s diligent in a way that only years and years of repetition of the same and unwanted premonitions could make him and seems to have a never ending stream of patience for the problems of others. Generally, Daniel could be found smiling and joking with other campers, chattering about mindless nonsense; however, he never seems to be all there or prone to showing his feelings. Despite his sociable nature, he keeps only a handful of friends, most of them people he’s known for years, and does not easily form emotional attachments to others. For all his pet names and sweet talking it’s never more sincere than mere idiosyncrasy. He acts how others would deem fitting and reveals little else.
As a result, it’s become hard for him to let things go, as they get mixed up with everything else that is inside of him. He remembers people that have wronged him and he remembers those that have helped him and neither are things he ever forgets. His tendency to hold grudges and remember things people have long forgotten often makes him seem unforgiving and petty and it has become yet another thing he tries very hard not to show.

Ω History:
Daniel Hunt was born and raised in the South, about an hour away from Atlanta. As such, he’s deeply attached to much of the music developed there and has a penchant for R&B and dirty rap, both of which he listened to constantly. His mother was a songwriter for the obscure and he thinks this is how Apollo found her, by listening to indie tracks while trying to be cool while wondering who could have possibly wrote these songs. It’s a bit of a circle logic.

His childhood goes relatively well all things considered. He went to school, sucked at school, went home, and flourished as a musician. A prodigy, some even said. His mother was understandably proud. Daniel is 11 when he first sees a vision of the future (or rather the first time he remembers) and he has nightmares about it for weeks. It begins to attract unwanted attention, accumulating into a sabotage attempt a few months later and by luck or by blessing he’s able to escape. Daniel makes a run for it and manages to make it to Camp Half-Blood. What happens during this time period is hazy to him but he likes to believe he received Apollo’s blessing because maybe the god did give a shit about his mom, even if it’s just a little.

After this, he loses contact with his mother for a year and a half, before he receives word that she had been admitted into a hospital. He leaves the camp without warning and once again, he thinks it’s only a god’s blessing that had allowed him to travel safely. Eventually, it becomes a routine. Every other month Daniel would slip out of camp to see his mother in the hospital, to read her stories that she had once read him.
AND SO THE YEARS PAST PEACEFULLY AND HE BECOMES COUNSELOR EVENTUALLY BECAUSE HE’S JUST THAT COOL WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME.

Evangeline Harlow ( Eva ) // Girlfriend - Significant other he’s been dating for 2 years now and likes to sing anything and everything songs to her whenever and wherever possible. He’s a bit head over heels for her even though it’s basically been a thing since he was 14. PDA couple alert.

Charlotte Gauthier // Friend and Confident - Daniel has infinite respects for the Oracle, especially considering his father. Constantly visits her to chat and for advice when he’s distressed or has seen something he isn’t sure how to handle ( events that are often intertwined ).

Colette Duchain // Acquaintance … ?? - A fellow cabin counselor that he’s gotten to know through Charlotte. Perhaps they share a sort of kinship… He thinks she would make good company and a valuable ally though hesitant as always to make friends.

* Has an extensive knowledge of medicine. At one point he wished to become a doctor of some sort but his inability to read well crushed this dream.
* Though his talents lies in the bow, he’s surprisingly adept with a knife as well and can take down opponents reasonably well at close range. At least enough so he isn’t killed the moment he loses his bow.
