Description

“There he was,” said Jonathan. “My savior from that infernal realm.”

“What is he?” asked Jake.

“He is…” Jonathan shook his head, not really sure how to explain to his son what he saw. “It’s difficult to say. It’s complicated on what he is. But there is a race of beings that exist in the Great Multiverse who bend no knee to any god, nor do they abide by any mortal rule. They don’t need to. They were the First Ones, the Kethosi, the Precursors to all life. And not even us Ancient Dragons can hold a candle to these creatures. If anyone in the Multiverse who knows more about the Far Realm, it’s them.”

“And that’s how he saved you?” Jake asked.

“Yes,” said Jonathan. “That’s how. But he looked so familiar. His voice…sounded like he was a friend I know. But it was like I could not even say the name of the friend. He was forcing me not to say it. But I want to say his name. I couldn’t. And I can’t.”

“It’s okay, Dad,” said Jake. “You don’t need to. What matters is you’re home.”

“Yeah…” Jonathan said. “I’m home.” But I don’t feel like I’m home.

His thoughts returned to the problem of the ever-growing dark energy inside of him. The Stone of Aster was becoming stronger. While he was on the Kethosi ship, the Blitzardi kept him bound in a collar that the energy of the Stone in control. The Blitzardi also showed worry over the growing energy from the Stone. Though, the Kethosi never interfere with inferior beings unlike what Dragons do. The Blitzardi was going against his own laws to help Pyrothraxus. Why, Jonathan did not know. But he knew that the Blitzardi more accessible than he ever thought a Kethosi would be.

----

Okay....

This may be a spoiler of what may happen in the next couple of chapters in the Crimson Dragon II. LOL. Hmmmm....why does the big dragon/wolf dude look familiar? And why is Jonathan turning black and purple again?

The background was done in Vue 7 Infinite. Sooner or later, I'll upgrade to 8.5, I swear. But I think they're cooking up 9 now, so I may wait.

That's it pretty much. And I will not reveal this secret in the story, however, I might give some hints here and there.

When Pyro goes after his mother, Sam will not use his 'gifts' he'll just do what he needs to do as a human in order to help him. He just broke the rule once because of the fact that there is no way that Jon could have gotten out of the Far Realm otherwise.

I figured as much. Fighting his mother is something John will need to do alone, after all.

I am reading Chapter 14 right now. I am writing these notes as I read it, this is all spur of the moment.
-Zestos still makes me think of Mark Hamill in the role; that blue servant of his, whoever it was who voiced Freiza in the Funimation Dragonball Z dub.
-One would think a being as powerful as Johnathon would know that Lao Shi has him bugged.
-Mentioning Eberron renews in me the distant thought that something necessary in the story will take a trip by lightning rail to that realm of concentrated awesome.
-I know that whatever happened to Vecna, all that was left of him was a hand and an eyeball. I'm sure those won't come up, no sirree Bob.
-I know you like to have at least references to other stories, but the Ghidrah/Gravemind thing is probably an invitation to a delve that one may never come out of. Also, Toho universe reference twofer: Go'rath=Gorath.
-Explaining what happened to the Hydra was just an excuse to work Kiryuu into this story, wasn't it?
-At least you explained how Ghidrah could still be alive for Godzilla vs. Gigan after he died in Destroy All Monsters.
-All right, this Killract, whom I have just been introduced to, already sounds like Dee Baker as the Gravemind.
-If Killract already knows the truth about Sam, surely he would be smarter than trying to blackmail him.
-I thought people weren't supposed to say Tiamat's name. Did Lao Shi forget about that, or did you, or was Lao under enough stress to temporarily ignore this rule?
-Oh yeah, Mark Hammill is definitely my choice for the voice of Zestos.
-The fact that Galen is actually Bahamut does put to rest my theory that he was going to turn out trying to use the power of the Stone for himself.
-Zestos has been in Baator for too long. He should know that firing a loyal servant is the invitation for a complex revenge plot. That always happens.

Always Mark Hamill. Well, if you want Zestos to sound like that in your head, then that's fine.

Shäzyx is a woman. I think Freeza was a man, androgynous maybe, but a man. Shäzyx has a sensual voice, more like Angelina Jolie.

Sometimes, even something like that can slip by him.

It also is an invitation of having people find out exactly where it all alludes to. Besides, so many people wanted me to put Kiryuu in the story, so, I did. I just did it in a way they didn't think I would.

Yes, in the stress of things, Lao Shi let it slip.

Krllact isn't blackmailing Sam. Where the hell did you get that? He just gave a hint to Lao Shi to contact him because he knew Sam could help. He just didn't want to tell Lao Shi why because he knew the reason.

Still hung up on Hamill.

You didn't realize it was Bahamut when he blasted his Mega Flare/Disintegration breath weapon at Ithfaedeus?

Eh, cliché villain act.

I'm sorry about Mark Hamill, it's just that the way Zestos is written, it puts me in mind of a slightly more formal version of the Joker. The only possible replacement voices would be Ian Macdiarmid or Tim Curry, and I want to save Tim Curry for Asmodeus.

Freeza was voiced by a woman in the Funimation dub, to give him that androgynous, alien quality. I figured that someone who shot electricity out of their mouth might... never mind, she's probably attempted to seduce Zestos in the past, she should have the voice of a temptress.

Well, you can't put the Blitzardi, Pyrothraxus, and Kiryuu in the same story together, there just isn't a way to contain the power between the three.

I had figured it was just as much. I figured it was her, but it took me a while to seperate this You-Know-Who from Voldemort. Too much name doom around here.

I figured that a monster less intelligent than a mind flayer would try a stunt like that, but I think Kilract has eaten enough brains to know not to mess with someone that powerful.

I've only been familiar with Bahamut as a distant deity, never as the dragon he also is. When I learned of the existence of his dragonborn, I figured he didn't really go into battle, that he was off tring to create something better for us all.

See, if Zestos was the Joker, he would have killed Ithfaedeus on the spot. But magical talking orbs do not shoot out Joker gas, unless this was the Emperor Joker story.

On a second comic book-y note, I was rereading some old Thor comics, specifically the six-part Hercules story arc, and couldn't help but wonder, as comic book fans are wont to do, about how a battle between Thor and Pyrothraxus would go.

Well, he's not really IN the story, it was a cameo and a clip from a previous story I had wrote in 2007, which will also basically give you a hint as to what year all of this is taking place in. Hint, it's not 2010. Kiryuu's not gonna make an appearance. The two will NEVER meet.

That's good to know. I don't really like Kiryuu that much. I mean, I'm as intrigued as the next guy about the possibility of a sentient Godzilla, but heavy themes are not exactly the best counterpoint to giant lizards smacking each other around in my opinion; too me, the only philosophizing should be done by poorly dubbed Japanese scientists.

Wasn't 2007 the year Jake Long was canceled? All because Disney is too cheap to pay for more than 65 episodes of animated television. Anyways, writing the stuff you're putting in here would never have made it onto TV anyways, way too many legal troubles with Wizards of the Coast.

Of course, either way, a Thor/Crimson Dragon crossover would have been possible in the comics right about now, what with Marvel being owned by Disney now and all.

You didn't like Kiryuu? Boo. I love Kiryuu.

Jeff has never looked at anyone's fan works. Trust me, I've seen the site and he's stated that he's never looked at anyone's fan works so, it wouldn't even happen even if the legal business wasn't a problem.

His loss I suppose.

Of course you have to love Kiryuu; you created him, at least this version of him. Can you imagine what would happen if you lost your taste for own chatacter? I'll give you a hint: it's the reason we don't see Shmoos anymore.

Ghostwalker2061 In reply to BlueRavenfire [2010-08-12 23:39:31 +0000 UTC]

Is it Khan? Maybe. But Jon referred to him as a friend, a friend he knows. I'm making some obscure hints here, but hints you all may not get because it refers to where a particular character's name originally came from and what story that character originally took part in. But it is a character who's name Jonathan knows very well because they are best friends.

i figured it might be khan because it look like him from your previous drawings, but he is from you halo story, so might not be the same, unless your crossovering characters from both stories.

Well, the Kethosi are inter-dimensional creatures. So, they can cross dimensions and effect multiple dimensions if they wish.

It's kinda Khan and kinda not Khan. But I did give a hint to you. Pyrothraxus has two best friends. One is Galen, who we know is Bahamut. I mean whoever doesn't know that is oblivious or doesn't play D&D.

But the other best friend is one who came up in the second story, one who kinda betrayed him to the government, but at the same time, backs him up when he's arguing with the general.

Plot point dropping like a 500 pound anvil.

I still haven't gotten round to reading your Halo stories (the human mind's weird, I only read at night O_O) but saying they're "best friends" reminds me of Galen. Galen has a secret too, perhaps this is it? Wild guess >.>

Ghostwalker2061 In reply to Shadeofheave [2010-08-13 20:28:44 +0000 UTC]

Uh, not that "best friend". If you've read the Crimson Dragon II, I pretty much just flat out revealed who Galen really was. Even if I didn't really say it, I pretty much flat out revealed it. Of course, you would have needed to read the core D&D book Deities and Demigods to really get the revelation. But I kept pointing at it in the chapter where Sam goes to the Isle of Draco and sees the two statues of the ruling gods.

It has to do with the god with the six wings.
