Description
You must have heard
You must have known it by now
Times have changed and not for the better
Soon all of us will be without a shelter
What use to be our planet is not all it was cracked up to be
The icebergs are melting and the weather is drastic
Our cars, our electricity, our way of life is bringing us down
Where it use to be life is now slowly decaying
We will tell our children of how green everything use to be
We will tell them when the weather was nice
We will tell them but they will find it hard to believe
The reflections of how it use to be
****
An Inconvenient Truth. Indeed.
Take some time and watch [link] and see what you think will happen to us next.

What a POWERFUL message! You put my very thoughts into words! (something I could never do)
But this is a fantastic image with a thought-provoking message. Way to put the truth right out there for people to read and see, excellent work! And once again, beautiful, inspiring work as always!

This is the world... that we know wait till a couple of years and everything will be forgotten If not forgiven
ah... what a pity... but mankingd can no longer live without eletrizity... and greed, power and corruption wikll take us all... There's no saving this world if we don't even start ourselves and I have yet to do it...(Using the computer 24/7 doesn't help either)

this is gorgeous...
i'm not to much of a fan of al gore, though. apparently he's been criticized for, among other things, a huge house that sucks up a lot of energy, even though he's supposed to be concerned with global warming.

I love the textures of the ground and how they contrast the sphere in the foreground. I also like the reflection in the sphere and what it symbolizes.
Amazing picture!

Beautiful. Although the poem that came with the pic sounds fatalistic, when I saw the photo I couldn't help but think of "promise". A dry, parched land with a globe of blue skies... So I guess I guess I interpret it was both a death and a promise of life. A chance for resurrection? Sorry about my rambling. Either way, beautifully done, and it draws a strong connection to the problems we face with the deteriorating environment and Earth.

I love the picture. It's amazing. I'm wondering if the little ball-bearing was actually reflecting that much sky or if it was photoshopped.
I'd rather sell my left nut to the devil than listen to Al Gore though. haha

Beautiful. I love the poem too. And the expansive sky contained in the reflection of a ball bearing while the desolate land fills the frame.
(May I say though, that the phrase is "used to be")

Well, I rather think a lot of what's happening is actually cyclic, with a small amount of help from us car-users and so on. Let's hope this will soon pass!

Wonderful shot. I really like the contrast between the rough dry parched ground and the smooth shinny surface with the hint of moisture in the clouds, of the ballbearing. Great job.
My I ask how you got the shot without being seen in the reflective surface of the ballbearing?
