Well you can't reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally blame the artists for that now, can you. It's not like they can go and favourite their own work thousands of times. And especially if what they're drawing is just for fun... If other people happen to like fun, silly work, then all the better for them.

Oh, I in no way blame or hate the artists. And I don't care what anyone draws, they can do whatever they want. Its just when other more deserving artists are undermined by some teen girl fandom, or by a specific popular style, that it irritates most people.
But I mean, these images are just in the "popular" section, not the "most talented artists to ever exist" section, so its obviously, for lack of a better term, a popularity contest.
I can't tell people what to like and what not to, or make them appreciate other artists. Though in all fairness, I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from. The content may be silly or enjoyable to many, but not all aspects are taken into consideration, like the level of artistic talent and such. I'm not saying that the art is absolutely deplorable in this case, but if it is in the popular section because of the art, then I do not feel that it deserves the popularity its getting. And thats where people like you and me start to have our little spats. Its a high differing preference and opinion in what deserves popularity. I don't hate anyone, just disagree in their views, even if I say things out of irritation that aren't upbuilding or polite.

If you want the Louvre, go to Conceptart.org - if these other highly talented artists in your opinion have any brains, they will too. And make some money. And improve their skills. And be a damn site happy about it. Otherwise you're chewing very, very, very old fat, and while I (and the artist of this picture) agree with you that it's deplorable having a stick-figure Inuyasha right up front instead of a beautiful, well-considered photograph (et cetera), but I find it rather rude for you to complain about it on the artist's page, rather than on your own - or perhaps to the admin - if you feel so strongly. If you agree that it isn't the artist's fault their work draws such an amazing fanbase, why bother to tell them about it?

THAT'S HILARIOUS! Me and my friends went to the mall today and I got a caramel apple. I squatted down on the floor to let my friend take the last chair and my friend mentioned that I looked like L. After a moment of considering, I decided that I was L and Ryuk's lovechild because I was eating sweets and apples at the same time.
