Even less is said about King Elah, the son of Baasha who only reigned for 2 years before, in a drunken stupor, was assassinated by one of his chariot commanders. The most the text says of him is he was "drinking himself drunk" in his capital of Tirzah when Zimri snuck in and ended the party early.

Here, since that's literally the only detail available or reflection on his life at all, it is also the subject of this illustration. He's wasted, plowed, hammered, and Zimri's arm is shadowed on the wall over him ready to strike. I wanted him to look slovenly and like he just doesn't care. Because he didn't.
