AKA: The Divine Moth

Mothra is a divine butterfly/moth-like kaiju that is the noble defender of nature. She is sometimes an ally to Godzilla and sometimes his enemy, but she has never been a villain in any media she has appeared. She has multiple abilities as they varied. She can spread gold scales from her wings and can also fire laser beams from her antennas. They all vary in the different films. She is also the only kaiju who has successfully defeated Godzilla several times. I've always preferred her and Godzilla working together on anything, especially battling a more threatening monster.

Mothra is very popular amongst kaiju fans, myself included and is my second favorite monster not just in the Godzilla series, but in all of Toho's gallery of unforgettable kaiju.
