"Is it all fall down, is it all go under?"-The Grateful DeadA fun little screencap from the Season 2 Chucklewood Critters episode, "Smile Please, Lester!" In this episode, the cubs and their folks go on their annual family vacation to Crystal Bayou. Tagging along with them are Franklin, as well as Bearbette and Frisky, eager to visit their old home (wonder why their folks didn't go with them...? Maybe they didn't want to go themselves but gave the kids permission to go along with Buttons and Rusty's folks. Yeah, that's probably it). After a ride up river in a raft borrowed from Ranger Jones that sees them traverse rough waters and nearly get way off course thanks to lazy Abner and his poor sense of direction, they finally end up in Crystal Bayou. Their good friend Lester Gator is putting on an annual competition called the "Swamp Games" in which the cubs and their folks can participate in, alongside Lester and some of the other swamp critters!
They all have a good time playing and competing with one another, and eventually Lester wins a gold medal (actually, it's just made out of chocolate) after he wins the final competition-"the grease-pole gold medal showdown"-against a less-than-friendly gator called Rufus, who takes losing very badly. Then, it's time for a swamp party! Lester and a few other swamp critters are in a jug band, and start playing a silly little dance tune called "The Bayou Critters' Romp". It's a pretty goofy dance which-among other things, involves you stomping your feet, waving your arms about in the air like you're swimming, and-as you see here-giving your partner a butt bump!
Silly little tune and dance, yes. But it sure looks like everyone's enjoying themselves and having a good time being really silly, don't ya think?
