Description Alright, The first piece was taken over the summer time when me and * budmedia first got into photography. I saved the piece and didn't upload for 6 month's.. because I wanted to try a set photo of the same area but at a different time of the year. The 2nd was taken the other day. They are both a path heading up to our local beach. CT has such great season changes. Enjoy the piece and thanks for the title: * budmedia

its one thing to have great skill with a camera, and a good eye for photography.. but another thing to have that much damn patience@! .. .. love how it turned out.. definately worth the wait.

The contrast between the winter and the summer is beautiful. Passing seasons are both melancholic and uplifting, aren't they?

love it. particularly love how much more focus the path is given in winter... summer the focus is on the person, the moment, but in winter the length of the path looms larger and the focus turns to the journey - we have somewhere we must go, leave. great contrasts on so many levels. nice.

Wanted to add: the angle is appropriate for each shot, so I know you couldn't predict what exactly you would do in half a year, but for the sake of this combined piece I wish you'd taken the summer one from the winter's angle... maybe next year?

were these taken at the sound?
i used to live in fairfield right on the sound...good times
moved 3 years ago.

I like both shots... the sky looks really nice in the summer one, though it seems that the ground is pushed too far dark. Very nice contrasts in ideas between the two shots as well as the way they look... a familiar idea executed well. I wish the first picture (summer) were from the same angle as the winter one. The winter sky is so epic in the second shot.

Very nice work.

Good work.

I too am thinking about doing something like this... a series of twelve. I have a highway milepost number 1 near here... I want to do a picture on the first of every month for a year and see what develops (no pun intended). Good contrast.

ah, good good good, get those creative juices flowing goteki.

Nice idea and good discipline with waiting it out.

Like delicious, i too had an idea to impliment something to this extent, a small history of natural seasons, but yours is a much stronger/extreme case, so ill leave it to you

I like the clarity of color in the left shot, and then the clarity of detail in the right shot, each on their own would stand as a good photo.

I think having a person serves a better purpose than your previous ones, as in these the person helps push the theme along, and isnt just a feature easily removable. Their clothes, and equipment illustrate the necessities for these extreme seasons.

well done

i've had this idea for a long long time, but there's no real change here in arizona yet, so i was still waiting

**shakes fist at you**

anyways..

nice work, i really would have liked to seen the second shot taken at the same spot that the other one was taken (it looks like it's on the other side of the bridge)

amazing nonetheless.

whoa, oh my god, now this truely is a fantastic job!
wonderful idea garret, you did such a good job. i love this!

the guy (guess it's you) in the left shot seems to be happy, he's gonna meet friends or something, whereas the guy on the right sighs and seems to miss something... great..

its quite an amazing difference
the way that seasons change
and lives change
and even people
i hope that's the message
i STILL wish i knew how you got such amazing sky
even when its grey the clouds look beautiful
its no fair. wisconsin is just grey.. all day
comes to be quite an annoyance.
maybe i'll move to where you live.

I love this concept. there's the contrast between the weather, then the colors and the attitude of the two people(one back turned heading from the beach and the other one, still looking forlorn). it seems to me that the different spot was intentional (again opposites), as the earth revolves around the sun, also the time of day (one morning, the other one evening). very ingenious.

I'll stop before finding any more contrasts cause there are still.

Nice contrast, the second picture is my favorite, the sky and the snow mixed with the coloring you chose make it a +fav. I really love that style of photo. The person dressed in dark colors leaning against the rail is an excellent touch.

it's a shame that the pecspective isn't exactly the same but it still looks good!
On both photos the colors are great.
